I guess they say it because of the state of TvZ.

Poor liquid losing one of Taeja/Hero both of which are favorites for deep runs if not the entire tournament. Also poor Naniwa, has to go through two powerfull zergs in slivko and possibly dimaga to make the semis

You go 8-1 in your matches, only losing to Stephano, and you get eliminated. Dumb. Close group, that's how it works, unfortunately. MLG's heads up system is a lot worse, imho. Yep, losing to Stephano -> out of tournament is much better than MLG's system. Obviously we can't do a bo100, but this is silly.
Funny that no one complains about single elimination tournies Bo3. One tough draw, one lost series, you are out.
Groupstage is more fair, but these tiebreakers happen.

To be fair, they did not all play bad, but the competition is very good. I am very sad to see HuK drop out, but that's how it is. He did play quite well at least. Go HuK! <3
Yeah agreed, I mean just look at the dudes they went up against.

Oh the bracket is so bad...

It's not a great system it takes a lot of strategy out of each series.
In a GSL group, due to winner's and loser's matches, you can play way more mind games. Do you go for two standard games or do you cheese? If you're up 1-0 in your BO3 you can do a risky build to try to close it out easily.
In the dreamhack system you HAVE to try to 2-0 every match, 2-1 is (as we see right here) not an option. So people will do the build they feel most comfortable with. Remember Nestea's spine crawler rush that worked in GSL a few months ago? Or the failed one he tried earlier this week? Neither of those would EVER happen in this tournament because it's just not worth the risk of being eliminated.

Wow...all the terrans left are on the same side of the bracket.

Only buying players isn't enough. Don't get me wrong, but they need to focus on improving instead of buying as much as they can. Holy hell. HuK got knocked out after going 8-1 in matches the whole tournament yet this talk is brought up after he loses. It is bad luck of this type of system. It is kind of sad to see that some of the players have advanced with worse match scores. Yeah I love how Huk does better than Thorzain and yet nobody is shitting on him. Inconsistent haters are the worst.
What a silly thing to say.
Huk haters are most certainly consistent in hating huk : )

It's not Dreamhack's fault that Taeja couldn't win his group.

Would you prefer slivko going out after winning against Stephano and barely losing against HuK? I'm saying this isn't enough to get an accurate enough measurement of "worthiness" or "skill" to advance to ro16. The difference between 2-1 and 2-0 is so negligible except in a situation like this where it's your tournament life on the line. SC2 gameplay is too high in variance for this to be acceptable.
Yeah, let's only play Bo9 in a tournament with128 people in it.
Good lord, get some sense...

wow, top bracket >>>> bottom bracket
Also terrible bracket for Stephano. Keen is tough and he will probably face Nerchio in round 2 who might be his toughest matchup in the whole tournament. Meh.
But there will be one foreigner in the finals for sure lol. :D
