I've not been one to condemn the IM coach in the past and have always stuck to the idea that maybe his decisions are justified and he's been unlucky.. But only so much of this can go on before he has to be seriously questioned.. He has 2 multi time GSL champions, a GSL finalist and several code a regulars, aswell as some of the most well known code b players in the land but time and time again we only see one, maybe two of their 3 star players.. I really think he is looking at the GSTL format wrong.. He seems to treat it as though starting with one of your lower class players and slowly working up to your stronger players is the right way to go. Problem is, when IM gets a lead, this thinking no longer treats the format of series serious enough. He goes to MVP and Nestea as last resorts as though they are some sort of godly finishers. Yes, they are champion players and deserve every ounce of reputation they have but they are very beatable. They can not be expected to win 3 or 4 games in a row on a consistant basis. I have to wonder, if MC was on the bench would we have even seen him? Or would he join the list of IM's go to men when they rely on 1 player to finish the other team despite have 3 (4 including mc) players with more accomplishments in sc2 than most other teams top player.. My opinion is, if they want to treat this team league seriously they should be starting with Losira, Nestea, MVP or MC every time. Period. They have the star power. It will not cost them late in the series, as they still have the rest of that list up their sleeve. It is not predictable, thats each race covered as a potential opener. They are all super solid in every matchup and can all mix up their play. If their opener wins the first game (or more), then you have the opportunity to try to snipe with your b teamersif you so choose. But the second its all square, or possibly when the series is back within 1 game of being tied, hit them with another superstar. At worst 3 lose, you have to play another player (who is highly skilled in his own right) before chucking out another superstar as the ace.. I just don't see how this team, with these players should be losing on such a regular basis. Using my system (didn't take rocket science to come up with), sure someone like symbol may take down all 4 'superstars' and 5-0 you anyway. But at that point you just have to say "too good", at least you threw everything you had at the guy and made him work for it. Yoda, seed, happy, yonghwa and true are all perfectly capable players in their own right. And I would find it perfectly excusable to send out a couple of those in place of the big names if the coach sees it as the right decision. But come on, how many times now have we seen none of the big names until their ace is sent out, only to lose (qxc allkill anyone?) When you are ahead, you can afford to try your less accomplished players but once the series tightens up you have to get back on the ball. Too often IM sends out Losira first (random example, substitute for any well performed IM player), gets a nice early lead, then plays lower tier players until they have to send out an ace to (try to) save them. I don't want this to be taken as me out for the IM coaches head. Clearly he is very good at developing players and running a team or else we wouldn't be having this conversation about misuse of their amazing list in the first place. I do think he deserves his position, however I do think IM should seriously consider hiring a new strategist or just a secondary coach to put in charge (or at least help out) with team league lineups/decisions. Nevertheless, he most definitely should not be fired as he has clearly put together an awesome team that is being run very successfully. Still needs to be looked at.

Nevertheless, he most definitely should not be fired as he has clearly put together an awesome team that is being run very successfully. Still needs to be looked at. For all kill format it's hard to mess up. You start with your top non-ace player, If he gets handled by a top player, you can send out 1-2 snipers, and your ace to stop the bleeding if snipers fail. If he gets 1-2 kill, you can play map / match up and take it one game at a time If he gets 3-4 kill, you can either send out up and comer for either some experience or exposure, or go for the kill with your ace If he gets all kill, then you go home happy. I think IM actually handled it pretty well against TSL despite the result. There might be some personnel questions (Yoda was a head scratcher), but the strategy was sound. They just got steamrolled by a very good player on a roll, nothing you can do. Today's match was a total disaster though if they were dedicated to win,

Just kidding, but congrats to Fnatic, though I am surprised that the IM coach did not play MVP.

But unlike SymboL, he doesnt have a big offline placement under his belt yet. Stating on his Twitter he seems hot and ready for MLG. Guess we will find him in the Open bracket there, and Iam excited to see weither he can transfer his GSTL results to a big single event.
