Btw. these are by no means "extra" or supplementary events, they determine the seeds for the championship, which is incredibly important in their format.
if the PPV model didn't work, the tournament structure would be different because the arenas would exist. they are extra as we didn't see them last year. we would probably see just what happened last year, big championship events that carry over into each other.

The Arena's are an essential part of the MLG circuit, as they determine the seedings of the championship. They are by no means "EXTRA". Please do not try to put it onto the same level as the Arena of Legends, which was only there to please the fans, without great price pool and also - due to being invite only - without much legitimacy of competitiveness.

The difference is terrans that whine forget they have the 4 times GSL champion and the most accomplished players in general. So in that sense protoss players have the right to shut up whiners while the other way around doesn't work.

i realized a long time ago that alone being able to switch streams and jump into games at any point i want to is worth my money. the auto resolution feature is just awesome and the plethora of stream layouts as well. MLG put a lot of work into this and deserves some respect for that.
