I don't want to spend $20 on a day's worth of games because I have stuff on Friday/Sunday when I could just spend the $20 on drinks with friends or seeing a movie or something. an MLG event is better than at least 95% of the movies hollywood makes and then asks you to spend ~$14 for at most 2.5 hours of entertainment. Even if you have 5 hours available for a weekend the 5 hours for $20 is a better deal than almost all of the movies made since 2000. There are a few all time classic movies that are incredible. But, you can download'em for nothin'. A UEFA Championship is free and offers the same amount of entertainment... I don't understand your point. Really? Euro 2012 and/or Champions league is FREE in the US? It sure ain't in Sweden. Really? Euro´s/World championships in football are always free in germany. It's really free in Germany? In Sweden it's bought by state TV, thus financed by everyone through taxes. UEFA and FIFA charges huge amounts for the rights to broadcast, I doubt there are many TV channels able to broadcast for free. Well in countries like Germany England and Brazil they sure can broadcast it for free, they do when there is market fot ir.

No commercials, 1080p, top tier talent, near instant VOD, top tier players, and a viewing mechanism to watch multiple streams. We have also upgraded our production every single event (jib cameras, PIP, lighting improvements, POVs, etc). We are trying to make this product worth it and I think it boils down to: you either think it is worth the money and pay for it, or you don't.
We're constantly adjusting our offering. The thing to keep in mind is that NO ONE in this space has figured it out yet. As a business we need to make money to keep doing these events. Have we found our perfect model yet? No. We plan to keep changing from season to season based on what works.
Thanks for your support. as a paying customer twice for MLG, i am very happy and will continue to do so, a lot of people just struggle with the change after it was free for so long. But honestly, MLG has stepped up its game SO much, as you say, 11 streams with 1080P, layouts that give you a stream and both players PPV, so much stuff, anyone complaining is very very silly, <3 MLG Same here, and I agree. Its worth every penny as far as I'm concerned. Although I am of the opinion that dropping the prices a hair will bring them more money. If they lower the cost $5 I imagine a ton more people would buy. as Adam said, they dont know what way works best. last arena was 10$ this one is 20$, i dont know if this is the reason they cost different amounts, but remember this is the first PPV we have ever had in sc2 (that i can think of) itll take a few months at least to sort out the perfect way to do it. The pricing was set up that way to encourage a season pass purchase ($30 for all 3 events+ Online qualifier HD, or $15 for Gold).
ah makes sense, think ill get a season pass next season ^_^

Yes sure, it is the same situation, it is financed through taxes, but everyone with a TV has to pay those anyway, so there is no additional prize, which makes me consider them being free. But you´re right, technically everyone pays for them, just like everyone pays for the news, the weather and bad german series.

Teffel vs Ret Grubby vs Goody Ganzi vs Alicia Thorzain vs Socket
EDIT: I KNOW IT IS SOCKE HAH Damn you auto spell. Leaving unedited so you guys can laugh at me.

Socke and Thorzain is a real cool match because it's two foriegners who are both REALLY hitting their second wind. I wouldn't actually be surprised by either outcome there... But I really am hoping for ThorZain vs DRG which I believe is an IEM Finals rematch.
Edit: I've been corrected, it was Dreamhack Valencia

It is the same in Spain. Euro, champions, worldcups are free. But they are public channels anyway.

Iam sad, but Oz seems clearly still traumatized from his clear defeat against PartinG.
PvP haunts him in his dreams.
Hope he can somehow get over that GSL match, and start to pwn again.
I mean his PvZ is one of the best in the game, and his PvT seems to be in shape as well.

This is probably to much to ask. For me it would be awesome if I could just buy 5 dollar, and spend it on games I want to watch. So, lets say you sell a single game for a dollar, then I can watch 5 games.
I sadly do not have the time to watch a lot.
