Disagree. There are 32 Code S players. Then there are 16 Code S players. Then there are 8 Code S players. Then there are 32 again. If you're playing in Code A, how can you be considered not "in" Code A? Or do you think a player can be both Code A and Code S? To me, that makes no sense.
I'm sure those 24 Code S players who do not reach the Ro8 and fall to Code A are still paid the Code S salary until the season ends. They then attempt to climb right back to Code S by either winning their Code A bracket or by winning in the Up and Downs to be assured a Code S salary again in the next season. So including them as Code S players is actually correct by way of salary alone.
It's been called "salary" for a while whenever it came up, which would be the minimum prize pool share for the initial round (was approx. $1400 USD for previous Code S GSLs, an assured "salary" without ever winning a single Code S game). As it looks now, a player going down in Ro32 Code S and then winning his Code A bracket to right away return to Code S could make ₩ 1,500,000 from Code S plus the ₩ 1,000,000 from Code A, which is more than reaching Ro16 Code S and almost as much as reaching Ro8 Code S (₩ 3,000,000).
I don't think it doubles up does it? Otherwise if you're in it for the cash and know you're not top 8 material, might as well just drop out each season and win code A

Money for even qualifying for a tournament isn't uncommon, but just because you get it doesn't change the fact that you've been knocked out.
Well, it's weird now because the format was changed. In the previous format, when you got knocked out of Code S, you played in Code A the following season (unless you finished well in Up and Downs at the end of a season back then). Now you can be in Code S season to season despite temporarily getting knocked down to Code A.
And it's been called "salary" infrequently both here on TL (you could search for it), on Reddit, and elsewhere even if technically it may not be correct.
Actually, I am pretty sure Code S players get their Code S prize only after they drop to code A. They don't get the Code A prize money. So a Code S player that get dropped to Code B still makes more than someone qualifying straight through Code A for that season.

But that would create a situation where some of the prize money would not be distributed then. Which is improbable.
Pretty sure a player who finishes last in his Ro32 Code S group, then loses his Ro48 Code A series falling to Code B will still make ₩ 1,500,000 (Ro32 Code S) + ₩ 400,000 (Ro48 Code A) = ₩ 1,900,000 for this.
Are those short player spotlights put out as separate videos also? The ones that are like a slideshow with short messages? I missed some and it would be a pain to hunt through the game videos to find them.
I could see DRG getting upset today. His TvZ hasn't been fantastic lately, and Jjajki is really solid. Taeja seems to either be on fire or not - so we'll see how that goes!
