The problem was never a problem, protoss didn't need the phoenix upgrade to fight mutas, they were comfortable using blink stalkers and storm to kill mutas. Hero was VERY good when he used that style (watched his games), I have no idea why he switched to phoenix. | ||

Having to get a Fleet Beacon and the upgrade just to deal with Mutas is not optimal, the upgrade makes no sense. The old route of blink stalker/high templar is almost always a better option. | ||

Stargate openings are all doomed the same way unless there is a major revolution in using them. I think there is a certain french protoss which is on to something in this area though. My point was that 1) he didn't even use the upgrade to its true potential and 2) the upgrade was not appropriate here since Leenock was not massing mutas.
