Which still means 5% of the LoL playerbase. dota2 already have almost the same playerbase as HoN. The numbers i've heard of HoN is 30k daily players. Dota2 almost have the same playerbase in closed beta. But the day Dota2 comes out, F2P with LAN dota2 will be biggest, because of China. Numbers i've heard is each day china has 6 million people playing dota1. With Dota2 becoming F2P (proofs are abundant) and with LAN only crappy computers can ruin the chinese market. I by most people playing in lan cafées they will have computers capable of playing dota2 i reckon. The real question is, how many LoL people will play dota2 instead because the F2P model wont be buy something to play heroes. All heroes will be playable for free, even though the game is harder, I could see new people not playing LoL because they don't want to earn heroes... User was warned for this post

Shrinking is what's actually the problem... the problem is that Starcraft will continue to remain a minor niche segment of an already small niche market of professional competition that represents e-sports, despite hopeful trends that indicated otherwise ( early to mid-late 2011.. the golden age) Incontrol once said he would like to see SC played in a stadium in front of thousands of people ,similar to a universally acknowledged professional sport such as baseball. I see the chances of that happening slowly fading..

It's 6:30am right now for CST, so it's anywhere from 4:30am to 7:30am for anyone from the United States. You'll get more viewers if you schedule at a time when your core American audience isn't sleeping. Not that I'm complaining. I'm used to the GSL being at random ass hours during the night.

Europeans have work/devil-worshipping/school, NA are mostly sleeping at the moment and weekday tournaments rarely draw large numbers.
