I do find casting interesting and fun to do though. Therefore I would like to get some more information about the kind of casters you seek. I'll send you a PM about that =).

@Liveon: Hi there, I think we've met each other on Grubby's stream earlier ![]() Right, but back to the mappool and veto's! I still think there's a problem with the veto's unfortunately. Because most of the games in our tournament will be played by individual appointment between the players, an unfair situation will arise every time a player announces his veto (or vetos) first. The second player could be in the lucky position that the first player already vetod the map(s) he wanted out most, and can now choose his second-worst map to exclude. A luxury that the first player didn't have. Please note that it is impossible for the tournament administrators to mediate every encounter between two players and ask them about their vetos at the same time. So: no vetos? Or do the benefits (less losses due to unfamiliarity as opposed to skill deficit) outway the costs?

- Blizzard maps (all 8) - Every first game on Tal'darim Altar LE - Loser picks next map - Map cannot be played twice - No vetos. Now to put it on the website!

What happens when a new patch arrives during the tourney, and the Blizzard map pool changes? Will we from that point on just go with the new maps?

Let me start that, as a student of the RU Nijmegen I am more than happy this initiative is going to happen! I just signed up so I'll see you there ^^ Map-pool imho should not only be the 8 blizzard maps, but should include maps like Bel'shir Winter, Daybreak and Metropolis as well. But it seems like it's already set so, it's ok either way. Take care ![]()

We're also talking to several other parties for sponsoring, perhaps we'll even get some great hardware to give to the winners. I really hope to be able to give details about that next week. Unfortunately the sign-ups have stagnated somewhat, but I still hope we'll get to a good 60 participants. If there's any students from the RU or HAN here who are still doubting: don't and sign up!

Any stream experts in here? We want a damn near perfect stream for the finals. They'll be on the university campus (76Mbit upload - according to speedtest) so bandwidth should not be a problem. However, we're unsure about several other things. The most basic setup would be something like this: - Two computers for the finalists - Two computers for the casters - They all join the same game. - One of the casters runs XSplit and streams to Twitch.tv. - Audio for both casters is recorded to the streaming PC for use on the stream. So far so good. But then: - Obviously we also want to project the show on a big screen on the stage. We can't just take a fifth PC and project the stream from Twitch.tv, because the delay between what the audience hears and sees would be too big. And we can't just duplicate the caster's screen, because then the audience would 'see behind the scenes' as he manages XSplit. Also, the beamer probably only has a 1024*768 resolution, which further complicates things. How to solve this? - If we want to be able to add the occasional shot of the audience, the casters, or maybe even the players (who are sitting in a separate room), how would we get that on the stream / on the screen on stage? It would appear that we'll need at least a fifth PC + operator dedicated to directing the stream. But this PC can't simply also join the game and show the caster's view, because if you do that, the overlays that the caster adds don't show up (this might actually not be a problem, we'll just have the stream operator handle the overlays). I know these questions may show a disturbing lack of experience. Please point me to 'streaming 101' where I may read and learn.

This monitor should then be doubled to the beamer, I guess. I think it would be nice to have a camera on the casters, but more camera's (for players and crowd) would be a lot to manage for one person who also casts.
