Contrary to popular belief Stephano is not from the States, any mindless spam asserting otherwise after this time (19:48 KST/ 5:48 AM EST/ 10:48 GMT) will meet a moderator response. We have enough confusing spam posting in LR threads these days. Lets try to keep the love for everyone's favourite French zerg reasonable.
And as always: - No player bashing. - No caster bashing. - No balance whining.

I am going to have to disagree with you there. He adds so much excitement to the game, much like the Korean casters.
I agree with Bandino, I dont mind in the slightest

Attacking the natural there was intentional. He killed every tank MVP had with that attack. He lost tons of roaches, but you can always build more roaches. The big danger when going up against mech is when they get a critical mass of tanks that you simply can't break.
Not quite, MVP had a pretty good advantage after that battle, but he just didn't make good use of it. I know hindsight is 20/20
Two things he could have done is solidify his position in the middle of the map with siege tank/thor line and then send hellions to crush the drones at all of DRG's expo.
The other mistake was sending his whole army for a small pack of roaches harassing his natural.

don't play mech
Don't play mech like the protoss deathball*
Both those compistions are weak if split up
Mech is SICK if you actually put pressure on the Z. If you just sit outside his creep and let him get a 5 base eco you deserve to lose. :p Mvp did 0 harass when DRG got to 3 bases and onwards.
DRG prevented that Hellion harass with 2 spines and 2 queens. After that, MVP just...ran his hellions across the map killing stray zerglings. which is good, but not great imho.

Nope, he played poorly. If he played well, he would've done helion harassment on the 4th base
thats kinda objective. he didn't play poorly, just that DRG had the threat of backstab there for so long and MVP was indecisive.
Doing helion harassment has no risk of a backstab. Being indecisive was a poor decision unless he thought DRG was on 3 bases. If he did think that, then it was a scouting fail. Either way, it's poor play.
The problem wasn't that he chose mech but that he chose to move out before he had a big army.. DRG had enough roaches inbetween MVP's army to deny him from re-enforcing his army. and enough counter attacks that MVP couldn't ever get the 'critical mass' needed to win with mech
edit1: also blue flame hellions should destroy drones at every outlying expansion even with spines there. I didn't see any of that going on.

imo, it can be almost the same vs protoss. a shame no real top terran constantly tries, i feel like it can be extremly good if played by an extremly good and smart person

If you mean any race than yes. If you mean any unit composition than yes. If you mean any strategy than no.
Its good tvt and tvz... MVP has won with mech a lot in tvz and it isn't a 100% win lol but it is completely viable tvz as has been shown more then a few times.

Hush, let them think that and keep playing only marine tank on ladder, I'm perfectly happy with that.

How are you supposed to pressure on the largest map in the game with the slowest army . Hellions have to buffer for the thors and tanks otherwise the expensive gas units will get rolled. Mech is not an all map strategy and MvP should know that

I thought MVP was so ahead after denying the third for so long, and the botched attack by DRG. MVP never took advantage, got his own third denied and sat in base whilst DRG took a 4th?
I think it was actually a pretty good attack, considering what happened in the next couple of minutes. DRG had just maxed out, and he was able to make some use of his mostly useless Mutas. He engaged waaaaaaaaay over the other side of the map from his own base, so that by the time MVP was knocking on his door he'd already remaxed.
