I don't really think that anything that Forgg did was cheese/all-in other than clever use of units and early aggression. He was teching up or expanding behind everything with some extremely clever tech-switches and trying to keep his units alive long as possible without losing them.

How can anyone hate on that? Isn't that what you want to see?

Timing attack? 3mins into the game? he did all in.. and people who saying he expanded behind it, well if his opening got crushed he would be so behind he wouldn't be able to recover so basically it is an all in.

But they still were bw pros in a proteam, which makes them better than....everyone in the world. So calling them bad is very relative.

To be fair, nestea WAS bad when he switched over and started playing starcraft 2 in season 1, but then he raised his skill level by a lot in season 2. He should be respected for how much he's improved, and players who were much better than him in sc1 were passed up mechanically, strategically, and in every other aspect.

on that day in season 1 artosis called nestea terrible.

true story.

aggro not all-in he was in total control, even if he lost his first push he would still be in a stable condition therefore not all in.

them newbs don't know what an opening is... sigh

The thinly-veiled BW > sc2 comment. It's been bubbling on the surface the last few pages. Just say it.

Welcome to the SC2 TL community

actually its because most of those idiots don't watch GSL

There were a lot of factors:

He played against Liquid`HerO. As a TL community, there were SO MANY Liquid fans
PuMa is in EG. Again, ppl see TL and EG as like rivals
PuMa is hated for the 1/1/1. He's been deemed a "cheesy player"

:/ as much as I hate it yeah..... too much hate on PuMa

People who watch GSL for the most part don't have that crazy terran hatred either, because for many seasons Terrans was the only thing you saw at the GSL.

Still not convinced by forgg. Not that his play was bad, but more that his opponent played bad. I know that when someone is dominating, his opponents will look worse than they actually are, but I can't wait for a forgg vs leenock, drg, MC, Oz, MVP, MMA. Until that it's hard to evaluate his actual skill level.

I am impressed with his play, but I'm sad that now almost every popular thread in TL is becoming some kind of SC2/BW discussion.

What does anything he said have to do with sc2vsbw or anything even close to that?

At the time of switching Boxer, July, and Nada were all washed up. Only MVP and ForGG were in-shape players when they switched. The comparison isn't even close.

And to all the haters saying Sage, Polt, and July all played bad... players look bad when they are outclassed. ForGG looks terrible getting destroyed by Bisu and Flash.

If anything these games give me fresh new hope in the SC2 engine, if you think ForGG looks good now let's wait 12 months and watch Effort and Sea.

true but one thing you not keeping in mind is that sc2 requires alot less skill so those b teamers are still playing great and probably still play good even agaisnt a teamers. like forgg and even flash and bisu YEAH I SAID IT......

forGG played really well, but I don't think it was some super level above everyone. I've been more impressed by MVP and MMA than what I just saw. He certainly deserves Code S and will do well next season, but I'm not gonna pencil him in for the finals.

How dare you not praise him as the best player ever?! No but all the sarcasm and crap aside, he wasn't that impressive there. None of that crap would've worked against a better zerg player than July. Also to me it looks like he's a bit afraid of long macro game against zerg, something that Mvp for example excels at.

Idk about the macro as we really cant say yet. From what I know of forGG (I didn't follow BW), they all say how he was all about timing attacks, and it seems like thats what his builds were geared too.

But he is just being way overhyped right now imo. His control was really good, but better than MVP, MMA, MKP? No. And the reaper/hellion build, we just saw Puma do it in NASL, I believe its a SlayerS build. I think he will do well in Code S though, he does have really good control and his timings seem crisp. Another thing we have to think about right now is the surprise factor of forGG. No one knows his style in sc2 really. I can see him winning a Code S title in the future, but not ready to say he will next season (like Artosis)

People whined last time too vs Polt, until they noticed what he had at home.

omg this argument comes up all the time. boxer was good during a time when sc1 wasn't as figured out and when the level of play was much lower than today's.

when we say people are excited about bw pros switching over, we're talking about the bw pros who are at the top of their game during the eras when the level of play had risen to a high enough level...around 2007/2008 +
