Code A has no champion anymore, just a preliminary round for code S, so it is basically just one tournament with one champion. Dropping to code A doesn't mean much also, you can still win code S next season. Code S should be called GSL, and it is better than just Code S anyway. You still need to differentiate the players that have a chance to win the GSL (code S), and the players in the qualifying bracket (code A). Code A/S is as good a designation as any other, and the audience is already used to these terms.

Monster also gets two pairs of zerglings and starts the Metabolic Boost upgrade immediately. Baneling nest planted down. Keeps producing zerglings, no drones. 8.00 Curious gets his speed way later than his opponent, and a spine at his front. Monster attacks with banelings, but Curious manages to get a queen block on his ramp, and cleans out the initial attack without losing much. Another spine crawler placed. Monster gets multiple more banelings, ready to bust the queens. Monster finally gets into the base of Curious, but only a few lings remain, and it's once again cleaned out. Another attack prepared for Monster.

I can't wait for a few years to pass by so we can get a game that is not about who mindgames better to win the rock paper scissors, but about actual skill. These "strategic" wins take away A LOT from SC2 as a competitive game. ![]()

Another attack prepared for Monster. 12.00 Curious doesn't target-fire banelings with his spines, and a baneling makes it into the mineral line of Curious, doing mass damage. Once again banelings make it into the base of Curious, but nice positioning with his queen and a great drone split saves him, only losing a few workers. Monster is still on 1 base. Monster preparing another massive baneling attack. Only 2 banelings push through, killing a total of 1 drones due to the nice split of Curious.

Current Code A players and MVP both have chance to win next season's code S, MVP just got seeded better. Code A is just preliminary round for next season which got played before the end of current season to save time.

And name it.....the observer. o wait.... Yeah HerO should have gone 1 gate robo, fast observer to see what's going on, if he sees 1-1-1 he can then do the appropriate counter and if he sees a fast CC like asd did he can keep up with macro too.....oh wait.. If you are gonna go for a fast observer you might as well go stargate because the stargate counters 1-1-1 better and both are screwed if your opponent FE'd like asd did. Hero had to play safe b/c nexus first on that map is instant loss, 1 gate expand is also incredibly hard to defend, so that means if asd 1-1-1s only the Phoenix build really effectively counters it as you can't get the Econ boost from a FE to counter it normally. So HerO had to make a gamble, he blind countered 1-1-1 and it didn't pay off. Yeah it was a terrible build against what asd was doing but the problem is on that map you have to guess, you are gonna be playing from behind no matter what if you guess wrong and there is no safe 'reactionary' build that you can do that doesn't put you way behind in Econ.
