no gatored? should be a 4-1 or 4-2 victory for Gosu depending on how titan does and how well gosu deals with ruff's base
|
I'd like to see more diversity in the map pool, adding some GSL maps and such. Xel naga, Dual sight, Meta getting too stale imo. GLHF

Agreed. GSL+MLG would certainly be a nice touch since MLG is indeed getting stale.

Or add in something completely new. TPW or ESV maps.

o.O Its Gosu gets a 3rd shot? D:
I demand a rematch for kiwi  hwangy fighting~~;

NIce. Gosu should be able to take this

Pretty sure its 1-1 So the rubber match makes sense. We got mad rivalry with Gosu though.
<3 Rumcake, hopefully see some good matches tonight. Also, excited to see Starkad in the lineup

I agree. The map pool sucks. Get with the times.

I think it should be expanded too... what maps would you want to see? I know your a victim of this exact map pool a few times now on WNS lol.
GSL maps?
|
I'd be willing to add a few maps. It's actually needed, as the last game in a full series ends up being winner picks due to the size of the map pool.
I like Daybreak a lot, bel'shir beach would be a nice map for variety, any others I should consider?
Maybe we could do a weekly "featured" map for the start map where map makers send me maps and we use a different "new" map each week as the start map.
|
ouch, itsgosu will take this pretty solidly (personal prediction of course) no offense vVv!
|
Sugar,
if you are looking for current GSL map pool the only new additions would be Daybreak, Bel'shir, Crossfire, and Calm before the Storm. GOGOGOGOGOGOGOG

Wait a minute...didn't Titan All kill them last time we played them?

I think that they are the best maps to date.
Maps like: Calm before the storm Belshir beach Day Break Xel Naga Fortress Crossfire
The ladder maps along with a lot of tournament maps are outdated. If I had a choice I would remove these maps
Xel Naga Caverns Metalopolis Shattered Temple Nerazim Crypt Abyssal Caverns

The commenting by Matron is pretty bad. For instance, he says that the 16-marine drop is doing no damage, that zerglings are essentially free for tgun, when Ruff takes out ~50 lings for his 16 marines. Also, he says that Ruff is doing a "transition" into ...more marines and marauders.
I love Crota's commenting, however.
On the topic of the games, Ruff's style is certainly unique...the look on my face when I saw ~12 reapers in a pack must have been strange. The fact that that many reapers were out and tgun's third was not established just blew my mind. I unfortunately did not catch the early part of the game where Ruff had built up the reapers.
|
ruff really man handled tgun last game constantly kept pressure so he could not macro then 12 bcs came , nicely played by ruff
|
haha love how hwangsin is manner nexusing ruff I would do the same to :D.
Didn't really matter that ruff had 17 probe kills when his CC was so late for natural but not surprised about that either.
Grats gosu think thats 2-1 now on wns?
|
|
the stream was very laggy. as for the last game... the helions did make a weird move when they entered hwangsin's base. maybe the lag did screw ruff a little bit. I see him hit the sentries, move, then stopped to do another volley but the flame never came out and he moved again.. then finished the sentries off right before he forcefield the ramp. if he didn't studder on the second shot, the ramp wouldn't have been forcefield and alot of things could have happened. running into the main where zealots can't chase, or hwangsin retreating the probes at natural for ruff to "line em up", or even a helion split into main and nat. GG though, ruff vs tgun was one of the most entertaining sc2 games i've ever watched

3-0 now. GG's vvv

yeah stream was laggy was annoying but wp by hwangsin i don't see why not do the hellion pressure, expand and then plop mass racks would of been ahead and could hit around the same time
|
gg's gosu. Hopefully next time it wont be zvz on tal darim XD
|
GG, epic game by RuFF! Omg that was really entertaining!!

Probably not as unique as you'd think. Here is Incontrol's reaction to the same build at MLG vs Strifecro:

First I ever encountered tguns Nydus rush. Replace a different pylon, and maybe not 100% block my ramp and I can hold. Or just cannon expo and sack main.
gg's itsgosu
cheers
directly countering my double sg build = Q.Q

It's unique in the sense that he is the only one who uses it and im pretty sure he is the one who created it, however im sure he uses it multiple times and its going to start catching on soon still though sick build and it is pretty damn unique and well thought out

I think its somewhat classless to be taking pictures of another teams players while your player is beating their teamate. Then to post it on a major forum is even more ....
Maybe thats just my perspective, but I guess I would rather get photos of my players moments of joy rather then their opponents teamates not so exciting moments.

Ruff has good strategy but he isn't tight at all. He really needs to tighten up his play. Normally when you get a lead from doing a great strategy you would stay on top of everything and have the opponent killed in the following 10 mins. He was slacking on his macro/micro/unit composition. I'd like to see Ruff invest some time into developing the later transitions in his game. His early-almost mid game is great and really hard to predict but after that he doesn't keep on the right path.
If you want some evidence of what I'm speaking of you can think back to parts in the game where he had over 1000 minerals, which was around the 10 minute mark. And just taking 3 expands at the same time because he had so much money. Then he goes for battlecruisers. You could say " well why not go battlecruisers when you have the money to throw around " well that's true and it's awesome to go battlecruisers. The real problem is that there's no need purpose in bringing a game that's won to that point. It's just being lazy and sort of insulting to the other player (imo).
I'm just a nub though

Interesting. I never would have looked at it from that perspective. To me, it's one of those things that you look back on and laugh about, but not in a deriding way, just a funny event that happened. Either way I meant no disrespect to any player or team.

I agree completely, but to be honest that game I was playing around. After I took the gold and natural and denied his third for the longest time. I could have either finished it like I normally do. Or just go crazy macro with mass BC's. I figured I would give people a show.
But like I said, I completely agree when it comes to my other matches. The TvZ one was all fun, I was banking minerals to build mass BC's at once.

I created it back in 2010, when I faced ROOTCatz on stepps of war. After my long break (Didn't play for 5 months between january and may) I completely forgot the build. However, after running into other cheesy situations against zerg players on xel'naga I managed to recall the build and refine it pretty tightly. I've been saving a lot of replays with different situations IE: baneling busts, roaches, macro, muta, and etc... based on the zergs transition. I play to make a post on the build. Even though I use this build 80% of the time that I play zerg. Many Terran players think it is a bad build because your not expanding fast enough. The reason behind this build are two things: 1. Zerg over drones and dies, 2. You force lings and no droning. By forcing no droning, everytime I review the replays I notice that I have a higher scv count than the zerg has a drone count at the 7-8 minute mark. So then if I double expand by the 9 minute mark, I am hardly behind at all, but more so ahead. The only problem with this build is that you are on bio the entire time. Where bio is actually not that great against zerg. However, you will always have the economic advantage, just micro your ass off!
I actually gave quiet a bit of details here that I plan to post with a replay pack.
There are 3 unique builds that I have found to be extremely successful when playing.
TvT: 3 Reaper expand onto gold TvZ: 4 Rax Marine into reaper double expand TvP: Marine Medivac +1 combat stim
All of these builds I created and no one uses them. The reason no one uses the TvT one is because its ballzy, however the only way you can lose is if they marauder rush you (However, I have heard from a vVv member that MMA used this build in the GSL and took this build from TSLPolt who took this build from me at MLG Orlando. I left an interesting impression on TSLPolt after our matches and a lot of members noticed that he liked the build and was smiling when he noticed it and was talking about it a lot) . The TvP and TvZ one you expand at 8-9 minutes, so people don't like it. However the TvZ one I already explained that the zerg can't drone so you aren't behind and the TvP one will punish some fast expands and deny all protoss cheeses. So Protoss who do not FE, will lose automaticly.
