However, the skill it takes and the reactions needed more than weigh up a lot of the balancing as, simply put, there aren't enough factors to outweigh imba skills. They patch things but generally with new expansions. Players accept that half of the characters aren't playable but there is generally a good balance between the top tier of characters.
(Unlike MvC3 wher Pheonix dominates all but Justin Wong)

I'm going with Ret 90, not going above 100 the whole time.
Hero will be 90, spiking up to 140-150.
If they corelate with their APMs, Hero will need an ambulance on standby when hes warp prism harassing.

Hero will be 90, spiking up to 140-150. ret is a cool cucumber. his heart beat will never exceed his drones (which is usually ~90-100). =)
Good theory, everytime his heart beat goes up, he will be like "Oh shit, better catch up with drones."
Thats why sometimes he over makes them.

I actually kind of have to agree with Slasher on his take on E-Sports. E-Sports is already taken lightly by outsiders, putting us under the "No Life" and "Nerd" column, so why bash our fellow gamers? I've played games from WC2, SC1, WC3, HoN, LoL, and SC2. Obviously I love every game, well, besides HoN it was pretty stupid. That doesn't mean I should be bashing the game, they're other people out their playing the game and if anything if they're good at it and trying to grow the community, I would respect them even more.
E-Sports will never be taken seriously if we continue to put down another community of E-Sports.

Saying something like Akuma is trying to zone with the jump hadoukens in order to not allow his opponent to get in close range on his own terms would be a better analysis than omg combo oh dodge oh throw.
Casting Fighting games is kinda different from casting RTS and FPS' anyway. And even then, commentators also vary styles, some just go about the general ideas, some will talk about deeper things and some will just build hype going apeshit with OOF!!!!

Artosis is a quake live fanboy as well :D yay.

I actually agree with Slasher for once, enjoy the games you love and respect the one's you don't. Anyone calling any game shit does nothing and is not needed, instead of pressing the post button ask yourself if it is necessary for you to say something disrespectful for no reason.

quake finals will be shown too? aweeeeeeesomee!!

But why aren't these casters telling us about it? Their casting has no strategic depth whatsoever. They are shoutcasting, which is great, but there needs to be someone who can explain the finer points of the game to the ignorant audience like me, or I am not compelled to find out more about it. Shame. You are mistaking strategy with tactics. Please look up these terms before you want to discuss it. Whatever dude, they are talking none of it. And your attitude isn't helping either It does help because there is not much strategy in the game. However, it is very tactical. If you really want to learn about a game and not just ask "political" questions that you expect to be never answered, you should discuss on a solid basis.
I appreciate SSF4 as a very tactical, fast paced eSports. Whoever played fighting games knows that they actually take pretty much to master.

So true. I'm actually glad the muted the chat, there's a bunch of immature bitches in chat whining about something that's actually pretty awesome(that is, letting us watch a different game's finals during downtime).

I predict 387 drones killed overall in that series. And I predict 682 made.

1 million pylons LOL. WhiteRa really rocks!

Dota games (LoL, HoN, Dota2) are all very fun games, but tend to fail as e-Sports because the games last 50 minutes with only 15-25 kills in a game often times. I think a big error on the design of these games is that characters that become more powerful cannot die or else their team is very likely to lose, thus discouraging aggression and action. It's kind of like how sometimes two guys TvT turtle up and one battle decides it all, but there's no potential for "cheese aggression" to end the game early because the inner towers are very strong in the early game. Until a developer comes along and makes the games more action filled and shorter, it will struggle to bring in "outside money" that SC2 thrives quite heavily on.

Its not that the people who are upset that they stopped the SC2 tourney to show SSF4 are upset that SSF4 is considered an e-Sport it is that they want to watch SC2 not SSF4.
SC2 has a huge scene so tourney organizers seem to be lumping in finals of other games to increase viewers (ala LoL at IPL)
