MLG Providence Day 3 Live Report Thread - Page 586
Forum Index > StarCraft 2 Tournaments |
Here we go again. This weekend is about good games and good fun. Don't rain on that parade. Play nice guys. Here's the very standard and friendly: - NO Balance Whine. - NO Player Bashing. - NO Caster Bashing. - NO BM whatsoever. Breaking these rules (from pg 166 forward) will be met with severe punishment.

Anyway Your argument is NOT applicable to this tournament. You have to realize that naniwa came out of the open group before koreas were even coming to MLG. There is a chance that naniwa might not even make it out of the open group at this MLG. So next time actually compare different events before you mark them as the same ordeal. didnt nani beat nestea in the invitational before MLG started aswell? no open bracket there.

Hahahah total win. Low level koreans beat the crap out of nani. He's on fire on this tournament, but I really don't expect him to survive long on Code S. He probably won't get out of Ro32, it's a completely different setting. Out of those the original quote listed, I'd say MC has a more than decent chance, and Taeja would probably wreck him. There also jjakji, and these are just normal korean terrans. Nestea could probably beat him easily on a better day too. DRG has sucky ZvP and MVP has average TvP so I wouldn't be surprised if nani beat them.

This. Sure, there are a lot of good players in Korea, but the tournament scene is very dry over there, because of GOM's exclusive broadcasting rights, and the Brood War dominance there.

I'm not sure who to pick to beat him, but I know he has a bad time in the GSL. Maybe the MLG format is just really good for Naniwa? I can't get on the 'best in the world' hype train when i've seen him do this once before and then promptly crash and burn. MVP and Nestea I'd still say are better than him because of consistency that goes longer than three days (Not saying anything about Naniwa's performance this weekend, he's been stomping everyone and making all zergs look silly).

It's really fun watching a guy being able to forcefield the ramps and all over the Zerg's creep. I wonder if any proplayers will be able to beat protosses next month as Zerg if they play like Naniwa and abuses FF at max. It reminds me about the MC vs July finals where July couldnt do anything since the forcefields were there all the time. Hopefully Leenock beats DRG cuz he deserves a better spot (which I doubt he will tho), but I cant see him having a chance vs protoss in the final. This just makes me so sad, lol. The PvZ seems so broken. I understand that it's not very exciting to watch. The current trend in PvZ is mutas builds who are inherently weak to early warpgate pressure, to the point where no one used mutas for months in the matchup after the 6 gate era. A sentry push can be easily beaten with ling infestor, and fungals aren't any more exciting to watch than ff. DRG was supply blocked after the spire finished while banking a lot of money, after that he base traded with zerg T1 while losing all his tech. That game was almost bo win when DRG failed to scout the 8 gate and had no units when the gold base fell. He assumed that toss was going to get colossus tech and move out with 3-4 of em, which would take a while, when Naniwa skipped the range upgrade and went straight to his face with a 1 colossus gateway ball..
