Here we go again. This weekend is about good games and good fun. Don't rain on that parade. Play nice guys. Here's the very standard and friendly:

- NO Balance Whine.
- NO Player Bashing.
- NO Caster Bashing.
- NO BM whatsoever.

Breaking these rules (from pg 166 forward) will be met with severe punishment.

While Leenock only needs 2 against Naniwa

Am I right?

Not trying to be racist at all here, but I have several friends from Stockholm and they all kinda act like that. Theyre great dudes but they come off as very weird/awkward until you get to know them(some even after you know them). From my experience at least, Swedes like Jinro seem to be the minority.

Aye, we're an awkward country with awkward people. It's got to do with Jante-lagen, get one of your swedish friends to explain that one to you >.>

Haha will do. The only time i was ever in Sweden i was too young to remember anything about it, but my friends always tell me things that are kinda funny(to me at least). I thought it was hilarious that my friend was studying to become a "Landmeister"(sp?) and had classes with the prince of sweden.

Guys a friend on mine is swedish, and he´s kinda the most charismatic and outgoing person i know. Dont generalize this

oh idd, Naniwa is in no way the typical swede :p quite the opposite imo. but hey, I cant really be objective now can I.

well i just wanted to contradict this upcoming "all swedish guys are introverted" theme :D , that´s comin up. And noone is supposed to be 100% objective, isnt it? Ask Idra bout it ^^

LOL just realized if naniwa wins 2 more games in a row, he will have won MLG providence with only 8 games played total. 2 against nestea, 2 against huk, 2 against drg, 2 against final comer

naniwa's accomplishment imo isnt that ultra overwhelming considering nestea had to face naniwa after going through the open bracket and having no stamina

naniwa is facing guys that are already so gamed out when they get up to face him but naniwa only played 4 games before DRG heh

i suspect once zergs learn to deal a bit better with this heavy strong forcefield style naniwa wont make it far in code S facing fresh players. i know after 30 games i get really dull and cant play at my top level

or heck even if you just have to play 6 games of high intensity in a row it really takes a toll on my level of play

I suspect you need to learn how to math son.

People don't realize that Nani got his seed because of his earlier MLG victory. He won that THROUGH THE OPEN BRACKET. He went something like 32-1 that weekend. He has played his game.

I don't agree with people complaining for rest before games, its just the way things go. Its not like naniwa got to prepare for who he was going to face.

Anyway Your argument is NOT applicable to this tournament. You have to realize that naniwa came out of the open group before koreas were even coming to MLG. There is a chance that naniwa might not even make it out of the open group at this MLG. So next time actually compare different events before you mark them as the same ordeal.

didnt nani beat nestea in the invitational before MLG started aswell? no open bracket there.

So crazy. I think its plausible that Naniwa is the best player in the world right now, I don't know what else to conclude from these results.

One tourney doesn't make you the best player?

I know, but beating the best players in the world head to head does. Its just so rare that 1 player faces and beats all of them in the same tourney run.

It's one thing to win a tourney while getting a great lineup, but Naniwa has beaten the best players in the world each of the past 3 days.

Who would you pick to beat him right now? Nestea? MVP? DRG? MMA? MC? Huk? Leenock? Taeja?

FXOLucky and Check

Hahahah total win. Low level koreans beat the crap out of nani. He's on fire on this tournament, but I really don't expect him to survive long on Code S. He probably won't get out of Ro32, it's a completely different setting. Out of those the original quote listed, I'd say MC has a more than decent chance, and Taeja would probably wreck him. There also jjakji, and these are just normal korean terrans. Nestea could probably beat him easily on a better day too. DRG has sucky ZvP and MVP has average TvP so I wouldn't be surprised if nani beat them.

Never. Korea has by far the biggest scene and the best players. Unless that changes and a massive cultural shift happens somewhere else, it will never change.

Korea is NOT the biggest scene for SC2. Not yet. It's just the best.

You do realize they have local tournaments we don't get to see? Also a shit ton of players we don't get to see.

That is 100% incorrect. The only other tournaments that are on a regular basis are the Korean Weekly and the FXO events. Korea is starved for tournaments.

This. Sure, there are a lot of good players in Korea, but the tournament scene is very dry over there, because of GOM's exclusive broadcasting rights, and the Brood War dominance there.

I'm not sure who to pick to beat him, but I know he has a bad time in the GSL. Maybe the MLG format is just really good for Naniwa? I can't get on the 'best in the world' hype train when i've seen him do this once before and then promptly crash and burn.

MVP and Nestea I'd still say are better than him because of consistency that goes longer than three days (Not saying anything about Naniwa's performance this weekend, he's been stomping everyone and making all zergs look silly).
I'm not bad at Starcraft; I just think winning's rude.

Why do you hate the extended thing? In normal you would lose and that’s that, but now you get a second chance, but you will have to battle harder...fare to me. I mean i hate the losers bracket thing, but if it is in then this is how it should be.

So the guy got one build with massive forcefields vs zergs, and zergs cant do anything. It's really fun watching a guy being able to forcefield the ramps and all over the Zerg's creep.

I wonder if any proplayers will be able to beat protosses next month as Zerg if they play like Naniwa and abuses FF at max. It reminds me about the MC vs July finals where July couldnt do anything since the forcefields were there all the time.

Hopefully Leenock beats DRG cuz he deserves a better spot (which I doubt he will tho), but I cant see him having a chance vs protoss in the final. This just makes me so sad, lol. The PvZ seems so broken.

I understand that it's not very exciting to watch. The current trend in PvZ is mutas builds who are inherently weak to early warpgate pressure, to the point where no one used mutas for months in the matchup after the 6 gate era. A sentry push can be easily beaten with ling infestor, and fungals aren't any more exciting to watch than ff.

DRG was supply blocked after the spire finished while banking a lot of money, after that he base traded with zerg T1 while losing all his tech. That game was almost bo win when DRG failed to scout the 8 gate and had no units when the gold base fell. He assumed that toss was going to get colossus tech and move out with 3-4 of em, which would take a while, when Naniwa skipped the range upgrade and went straight to his face with a 1 colossus gateway ball..

he said in a interview that check was helping him practice for Lucky and went 10-0 vs check with a voidray build on crossfire

Are you talking about the build where lucky sent 10 lings and won?

TL literally can't go 3 minutes without attempting to rank players.

I don't know why people care so much about ranking them either. What do you get from it?

It's a fun topic of discussion.

It's also futile as the very topic is fickle.

There is no way to define it and all it causes is frustration because everyone is biased towards their favourites. It's best for everyone if there's just no discussion about it imo.

This would be a terribly boring forum if we stopped all discussions where people have subjective opinions.
