Here we go again. This weekend is about good games and good fun. Don't rain on that parade. Play nice guys. Here's the very standard and friendly:
- NO Balance Whine. - NO Player Bashing. - NO Caster Bashing. - NO BM whatsoever.
Breaking these rules (from pg 166 forward) will be met with severe punishment. |

Sorry, but Taeja and Jjakji are FAR from average Korean Terrans.

If DRG wins = Bo7 with Naniwa
If Leenock wins = 2 Bo3 with Naniwa wherein Naniwa only needs to win one
Can anyone confirm this?

Never. Korea has by far the biggest scene and the best players. Unless that changes and a massive cultural shift happens somewhere else, it will never change. Korea is NOT the biggest scene for SC2. Not yet. It's just the best. You do realize they have local tournaments we don't get to see? Also a shit ton of players we don't get to see. If the Korean scene is so huge for SC2, why do the Korean teams need foreign money? Why are foreign teams willing to give them money? Because they want the koreans to represent their tourney. Foreign tourneys need Koreans more than Koreans need foreign tourneys.
That's unrelated. While Koreans may be the "best" I don't see anything proving it's the "biggest" scene. From my understanding, no SC2 tournament in Korea is nearly as big as anything overseas, especially MLG. Having 10 good koreans doesn't have any correlation between how big the SC2 scene is in comparison to USA, Sweden, wherever. Also, from my understanding all the Korean pro's clamor about how HUGE the SC2 tournaments in America are in comparison to Korea. As for SC:BW, I will gladly concede it is the biggest and best in Korea.

One tourney doesn't make you the best player? Nor does repeatedly failing to get out of Code A. I have the nasty feeling Naniwa is going to win, and ride his hype train right into another GSL brick wall. It's a bad habit for MLG winners. The problem with MLG is that the format makes it so that you can't say "this player all these players in this tournament" because certain players are given such favorable circumstances. Both naniwa and DRG had really good seeds, and Naniwa only had to win 3 series to get to where he is. Sure, take his series over the tournament as good wins over top players, but it's not like he bested them in a 64 player tournament where he had to win from the starting line. And for people saying he "deserved the seed and the advantage for previous MLGs", but sorry, in no way should you be given ridiculous advantages such as this just for showing up to the other MLGs. He basically had 1 good performance like a year ago against no koreans, then just got like 7th+ at the others. He won the Global Invitational under the same circumstances as Nestea, MVP and Idra. Also it doesn't delegitimize the win. Even in GSL it's very rare for there to be games played under fully-optimal conditions for both players. (they have to get used to the booth, they might be sick or slept badly, jetlag, computer settings weird, etc). But then I could argue that MVP had much tougher opponents to get to the finals of the invitational which I would be correct in saying. Also, all I'm asking is that the players shouldn't have to play like 8 hours every day and another guy plays like 1 or 2 series. They get no time to prepare for their opponent and even though some people have said that it isn't that tough on them (like Idra even though he's seeded every tournament) it's incredibly tough coming from the open bracket and playing like that and many koreans have said so in interviews.

Naniwa's going to win. I'll actually be surprised if he doesn't.

The doctors of the tl live report thread has had a chance to talk now, the conclusion is that that a LR thread is not really the place for that kind of discussion.

great .... so now we get 2 extended series
the MLG finals are worse than GSL finals

He's on fire on this tournament, but I really don't expect him to survive long on Code S. He probably won't get out of Ro32, it's a completely different setting. Out of those the original quote listed, I'd say MC has a more than decent chance, and Taeja would probably wreck him. There also jjakji, and these are just normal korean terrans. Nestea could probably beat him easily on a better day too. DRG has sucky ZvP and MVP has average TvP so I wouldn't be surprised if nani beat them. I wouldn't call Lucky low-level. He's been code a forever and made the up & downs last season.

Well he said himself they were harder than Nestea so I'd say they have a pretty good chance. Besides Naniwa still hasn't achieved much in GSL yet and that's the highest level of competition. I'd say Nestea, MVP, DRG, MMA, MC, Huk, Leenock and Taeja have a good chance of beating Naniwa as well.

Be preoccupied with only one or few interests, which he or she may be very knowledgeable about. Many children with Asperger's syndrome are overly interested in parts of a whole or in unusual activities, such as designing houses, drawing highly detailed scenes, or studying astronomy. They may show an unusual interest in certain topics such as snakes, names of stars, or dinosaurs.
