Yeah and a lot of those players end up buying stuff. Riot didn't just pull a $5 million prize pool for Season 2 out of nowhere. | ||

Account numbers vs WoW subsriptions (which is P2P) Of course there's the whole smurf inflating numbers thing, but this is really showing how good marketing and making the game appeal to casuals can be good for a DotA like game. EDIT: It's proven that the F2P + microtransaction model earns way more money and allows your game to be sustainable even in the later stages with minimal amounts of diehard customers. | ||
