Consider this too: There are far more less Koreans in MLG than foreigners.

So if there were 50% of Koreans and 50% of foreigners participating MLG from the very beginning, the result would be even more one-sided for Koreans

lol, BTW for anyone interested in the Koreans vs the World crap.

Here is the recap:

Of the 4 pools:

3 had a Korean at the Top
2 had a foreigner in 2nd place
0 had Koreans at the bottom

And top 8:

5 Koreans
3 Foreigners

Top 16
10 Koreans
6 Foreigners

So... those posts about Korean domination being over seem kinda silly in hindsight.

Foreigners have been doing progressively better every MLG. Look how many took series/games off Koreans compared to the past. I don't think anyone said the Korean domination is over, but it's clearly getting better.

Well obviously. But it's all relative to past MLGs. There were fewer Koreans in the first MLG's and more and more have come every time, yet the foreigners do better every time.

Someone posts the stats after every MLG and compares them to past events. Just keep an eye out for them, they will be tremendously better than ever before, despite more Koreans.

Also, I disagree with the guy who said they the best Koreans aren't here. It doesn't get much better than Bomber, Hero, July, and Polt. Bomber is pretty much equal to MVP.

well..no..bomber is not pretty much equal to MVP, hes pretty much a lock at #1

Of the players here, Bomber, HerO and Polt are tremendous players. I agree...but lets see the players who the koreans could have brought instead of latters..

Slayers_Boxer, replace with Slayers MMA
ST_July replace with colMVP_DRG
Inori replace with SlayersGanzi
EGPuma, replace with IMMVP
replace theSTC with someone like oGsNaDa/IMLosirA
Fnatic Rain with Slayers Taeja
HongUn Prime...any other protoss.

Just theres still a vast amount of players in the pool that are better than the ones at this MLG that could make things infinitely more interesting and a nightmare towards foreigners. I'm sure foreigners will take series or two for sure but...hell of a lot more difficult

HongUn compared to any other protoss? Who would you choose? Currently there are two protoss in code S, Huk and Killer. Killer is currently at IEM new york, but has not done great in other foreign tourneys. Inori had some sick PvP last week, but apparently is not consistent enough to make it through an MLG style tourney, as he lost PvP in the OWB to Ddoro, and the other protoss have apparently caught up on the PvP meta-game in the last week.

Fnatic rain is an American player, as he currently resides in the USA with his parents, my understanding is that this is a permanent arrangement.

Huk 2-1ed Nada in GSL August, in a fairly convincing fashion, and Nada attended the last MLG.

I understand and fully believe Korea has the best players, but this is a pretty good sample.
Obviously if you brought MVP, or Nestea they would win the tourney, as they are the top in the world right now by a long shot. The current sample is just a good representation of run of the mill code A or code S players.

To be honest I was in a bind thinking of a player to replace HongUn then realized theres nobody doing consistently well unless its like Slayers Alicia lol and Fnatic Rain well...then that just even proves my last post about how koreans are still as dominant as ever

My point is that for MLG, if the scheduling worked for the better and the players were up for it, South korea could field a lot more firepower as you seem to agree on as I dont see much of an argument about what I said :p. Obviously players like Huk and Idra can take series off of koreans, they always had the ability to for a long time now...but with a better boasted lineup...like MMA/Nestea/MVP in the mix with the additional of BomI just feel it would be more loopsided than ever before on the side of Koreans and foreigners would be very hard pressed to take series off of them than right now.

Dont care about bomber or any of those, overated like most koreans, i actually respect puma and july, feel july will do really well tomorrow as he began to do today. But huk is better than any of the koreans and playing anywheres near his normal level he will win easy.

Are you serious? Huk got eliminated from Code S pretty handily and I'm pretty sure there are some Koreans there that did it.

Huk is still in Code S, he got 3rd in his group.

Sorry that was maybe ambiguous. I meant eliminated from the current season.

Huk lost to asd and Virus though, you weren't really right about anything =/

Actually Huk did not play asd. He played Virus 2 times, and beat Zenio. Ironically Huk selected Virus to his pool.

I don't understand what you're saying... asd and Virus aren't Korean?

As I said, I meant he didn't get out of the group stages, not got knocked down to up/down.

You are so right and handsome. Huk picked Virus, lost, Virus went on to face asd, lost, and then Virus beat Huk again.

duh.

Fate has a funny way of working out. Polt lost to Goswser in a huge upset, which meant Polt didn't end up playing MKP for a spot in the pools. Now if that match happened, there's a good chance mkp could have lost with his poor tvt. If that happened then none of the mkp magic we saw today would have happened! Thanks polt for losing to Goswser!

Dunno about what sort of combinations of podium finishes are possible with MLG's format, but the players I want most to win the whole thing tomorrow are

1. July
2. MKP
3. Boxer

and also hoping Idra, Sase or MC does well enough to get a code S spot.

Have you ever watched Bomber's Gsl games? Huk and idra no chance against bomber. it will be pure easy wins for bomber. Just TheStC or Mc can stop him.

Sase beat Bomber, why couldn't Idra or HuK do it? Still likely that bomber will win, but come on..

You know how like Huk could not stop MC or god forbid code B player Sase could not stop bomber? Bomber is clearly the favorite but I would not count out Huk. Idra has a long way through some brackets before that even becomes an issue.

The fact you think MC is still the most likely to win shows how little you know about the competitive scene right now :|
