Its not as bad as Xnc by any means, but the fact that everything funnels through the middle and the easily defendable bases makes it hard to deny terran bases.

Oh, and Idra's Overlord placement has leveled up in the last month. He'd gotten kind of bad in placing them in drop paths.

Why it's good for Z
- Easy 3rd
- Lots of bases
- Nicely defendable ramp vs hellion harass
- No gold bases for terran

Why it's good for T
- Easy Split Map Situations
- Nice drop locations
- Access to back of zerg via rocks/tanks
- One attack path that can be occupied by tanks
- Natural ramp helps vs ling attacks

I'd say it is slightly T-favoured (Select said as much as well yesterday), but it isn't as one-sided as Xel'Naga Caverns.

Obviously lings only work as part of a decent composition of various units. Just like anything else late game. With brood lord support, spreading lings, banelings and infestors targeting marines, mutas taking on medivacs and ghosts, etc. it seems that lings are pretty good against ghosts with marine-medivac-tank support. If tanks are the main problem increase bl count, if marines are the main problem increase infestor count and spread + build banelings.

No zerg in sc2 other than DRG does that to a proper level. It's quite appalling actually. Maybe the APM required is too high, and maybe thats why nada said it be really scary when BW zergs transfer over to the game.

Well Moon beat Bomber with it, I use it only if I sense it's going to be a huge mech play (eg. I sac overlord and scout two early factories and no starport). You can get some good drop scenarios with nydus play on some maps.

he said micro, not macro. I don't think anyone has EVER called IdrA's macro shitty he would have done much better if he would have micro'd some of his broodlords better.

I always thought that this map was Terrran oriented if they can hold the middle, but if they can't then, clearly, that advantage falls away. It also seems like a good map to drop on, if you can manage that.

The four early bases are really easy to defend and the last 4 are extremely open and hard to defend. A zerg player wants to take his advantage after he takes his third base, and it can be really difficult to do that on this map. And its a pretty narrow map so tanks can hold down the middle pretty effectively.


It's had to break a terran if they get the middle of the map secure, but if you've got decent muta control it's amazingly hard for the Terran to actually take their third securely and without suffering enough losses that they are miles behind economically like SeleCT ended up being.
