How many minerals are there exactly ? 5 ? I just opened that map, it looks pretty cool the problem is, if this is played with all 4 spawn locations, 2 of the 4 starting locations have much easier 3rds than the others,, i believe. The minerals blocking the ramps on the beaches is all well and good, but the bottom left and top right starting locations have a much easier third, as far as i can tell. If cross positions are forced, I think this map is really cool
It's clearly a 2spawn map.

Cross positions are forced on Damage Inc. So think of it as 2 2-spawn maps in one.

tell me how this is fair and makes sense jesus christ xeris 9 NEW MAPS ? ? !?
this is ridiculous.
All the posts I see from you, you are crying about something. I don't get it. Everyone has exactly the same chances? How are YOU, desrow, disadvantaged to the other players?
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE these new maps! Can't stand the always similar games on Xel'Naga anymore...

AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWEEEEEEEESOMEEEEE maps
but i feel like zerg is going to dominate hard until protoss and especially terrans get used to all those counterattackpaths and flanking lanes
its gonna be hard for terran to play on those maps since they most likely wont have played on them yet

From a spectators point of view I can't wait to see games on these new maps. Will have to try them out myself as well!
|
I'm already very excited to watch the games. Love that NASL included so many new maps, can't get any better for me as a spectator. All those GSL/Ladder Maps are just so overplayed already.
|
I love to see the new maps, although forcing players to play in a buy-in tournament with entirely new maps in order to play in season 3 seems a bit ridiculous... I don't quite get it, the top four players qualify for season three, but this is the only qualifier for it? Only four new players will be brought in for next season?
Not really a big NASL fan, at least the decision making is questionable on some of these things, but I think it's really awesome to see some of these maps getting into some of the bigger name tournaments. I hope other tournaments follow suit.
|
I really like the idea of bringing some new maps into the Open Tournament so these maps can be used in the whole next season when NASL have some experience about the maps.
Also the semi open tournament sounds like a good plan and a hugh improvement to the last seasons open tournament. It was way to unfair to players who played the full season.
I think NASL is on the right way : )
And lol at desrow.. save your money and try your best @ IPL or MLG, ezpz

Actually its listed as a 4 player map on bnet as i played a game on it. But as someone below said, itll be a forced cross position map.

The maps actually look really cool. Nice move by NASL.

Just a week and a hf to the tournament. Make sure to sign up : )
Hope to see some good games!

I am absolutely positive that as a whole this was a wise move. While not flawless, these are some of the best maps the foreigner community has come up with in the past few months. I'm actually not a fan of one of them in particular (don't wanna name a name tho ^^):X but for the most part I am sure that at least a few of these maps will become highly regarded in the not-so-distant future. Barrin got it right. Playing the same old maps ~~ boring and repetitive. If the NASL is putting part of its reputation on the balance of these maps then potential competitors should stop posting and start practicing on them. I like this choice, I like these maps and I will watch the NASL open bracket with more excitement than the NASL! ok congrats on having an opinion now are you a competitor ? are you putting your money and time on the line ? thank you Are you putting your money or time on the line for this tournament? Clearly not, so what's the problem? I clearly would sign up to both of those if xeris wasn't crazy with the new maps and yea i would put my time and money on the line. I know it's cool be a hipster and want new maps but if you add a fuck ton of new maps it's really hard for the competitors, if u add a few maps then it's less agressive/ alot better
Better save your money and troll abit more, when do you ever get through (or even far) in a qualifier?

lol i know iron man iron man u rock man thanks for tghe map!

Really like this initiative, gutsy move.

Other notable players?
I'm much in favor of some new maps being introduced. A couple of new maps were almost always rotated in for the BW tourneys, its about time SC2 started varying the maps for once. gj xeris!

Don't get me wrong people I don't mind new maps proof is im playing in the korean ESV weekly and I have to learn 4 ICCUp map but 9 new maps for a single qualifier to qualify for another qualifier is just stretching it too much

Sigh, people complain that the map pool in tournaments is "stale, boring and old".
Then we get new maps and people still complain...
--;

I would have to agree and say that having all new maps to play in a tournament is pretty stupid. You don't see GSL putting players to test out whole new map pool in code B matches, do you? With a tournament this size, they should exercise caution in organizing stuff like this, rather than to throw a whole new set of maps just to hype it up for attention. Not to mention you have to pay fees to enter.
