Again like most, I'm not against custom maps. New blood in the map pool is always good. But making it ALL maps that 99% of the people hadn't played on before seeing their name while registering is bogus. Beggars can't be choosers o: Besides, if these people get to go to the Grand Finals without having to endure a difficult season, then they should be expected to sweat a little. People gave a lot of shit to Puma since he didn't participate until the last minute winning the open tournament.

Everyone is equally "disadvantaged," and you can't say that the maps are even imbalanced if you haven't played them. TPW is known for making good maps, their maps have won map of the month on multiple occasions.

In a year or so, and as the expansions continue to be released, new maps are going to come into the pro scene anyway, and I think pro players are very aware that at any time, new maps may need to be learned. To be perfectly honest I think they will produce a lot of fresh games and attract more viewers. GL NASL =)

If these maps really cause that many problems for the season 3 map pool, NASL would have no problem removing them, and it's not like pro players are going to quit playing starcraft 2 because they have to take a few days or weeks to learn a new map. You could argue that the results are less exact in determining the better player because the luck factor would be bigger if the players don't know the maps yet. Or something like that. It will also favour the players who prepare more on these new maps. You could see this as a CHANCE, practice the hell out of them and use it to your ADVANTAGE, hoping that the koreans won't train them that hard. You could also say that you want to be conservative and not progressive. You could say that you don't like to play unknown maps. You could argue that you don't like to study new maps. It's not "unfair". It's just a different approach.
