Do you not understand that it's a vastly different beast learning ONE or TWO new maps and still being able to fall back on 5-6 standard maps to learning NINE different new maps and having ZERO standard maps to fall back on.

Again like most, I'm not against custom maps. New blood in the map pool is always good. But making it ALL maps that 99% of the people hadn't played on before seeing their name while registering is bogus. Instead of NASL choosing the best ONE, TWO, or THREE maps they decided to just shotgun blast custom maps.

Beggars can't be choosers o:

Besides, if these people get to go to the Grand Finals without having to endure a difficult season, then they should be expected to sweat a little. People gave a lot of shit to Puma since he didn't participate until the last minute winning the open tournament.

These maps look sick, I really like how NASL actually listens to the community, and decides to put in maps designed by other SC2 players. Maybe Blizzard will take note, and implement more community maps instead of their poorly designed ones.

Everyone is equally "disadvantaged," and you can't say that the maps are even imbalanced if you haven't played them. TPW is known for making good maps, their maps have won map of the month on multiple occasions.

While I do agree with some people here that 9 new maps in a qualifying tournament is a bit extreme, I have to emphasize that the spotlight for community maps has to start somewhere! And I believe a good start is through NASL. Also guys, it's not the end of the world. If these maps really cause that many problems for the season 3 map pool, NASL would have no problem removing them, and it's not like pro players are going to quit playing starcraft 2 because they have to take a few days or weeks to learn a new map.

In a year or so, and as the expansions continue to be released, new maps are going to come into the pro scene anyway, and I think pro players are very aware that at any time, new maps may need to be learned. To be perfectly honest I think they will produce a lot of fresh games and attract more viewers.

Team TPW would really appreciate any and all feedback from players and testers like yourself. Whether it is positive or negative, we want to hear it privately. This would help us tremendously on knowing what the community wants and what they think of the potential value of each map.

Do you have comments, suggestions, positive or negative feedback on our maps?
Shoot us a PM, or send us a e-mail and let us know! You will find our contact information at www.theplanetaryworkshop.com

Don't get me wrong people I don't mind new maps proof is im playing in the korean ESV weekly and I have to learn 4 ICCUp map but 9 new maps for a single qualifier to qualify for another qualifier is just stretching it too much

Well, sure, but this is by no means unfair, it's just maps that people don't know. You could argue that the results are less exact in determining the better player because the luck factor would be bigger if the players don't know the maps yet. Or something like that.

It will also favour the players who prepare more on these new maps. You could see this as a CHANCE, practice the hell out of them and use it to your ADVANTAGE, hoping that the koreans won't train them that hard.

You could also say that you want to be conservative and not progressive.
You could say that you don't like to play unknown maps.
You could argue that you don't like to study new maps.

It's not "unfair". It's just a different approach.
