But I think LoL or Dota are not the right games to unite everybody. SC2 could have like 8 player matchups with huge maps. that would be pretty awesome.. You know tennis and golf is really big right?

Yes it's really cool to be disrespectful to other gamers playing other games than yourself...
Jesus christ wtf is going on in this thread? I'd be severely disappointed if less than 100 bans is handed out

I get the idea that they have been piggy-backing, gathering views of other game fans that are waiting for their game to start. In other words, would LoL be able to feature in their own tournament and get the numbers they have been claiming?
Just asking as I'm curious and not a Mobaa player/spectator. LoL got the highest viewers at Dreamhack and had the second highest viewers this weekend (I presume Dota had the highest). not saying bad about anyone here, but people here should start to realize that starcraft ain't everything. i love this game, but honestly, league of legends has a much bigger following crowd than starcraft as starcraft is good for the core players, but league of legends is also good for the casual crowd and everyone knows the casual crowd will ultimate lead as seen in the wii, 360, ps3 fight. hoenstly, whatever it is, games are still a business, and the business thriving most will be the ultimate winner. let's not forget that.
coming from the SEA region, every 100 people I knew that plays DotA only 5 plays SC2 and 4 is playing campaign only. LOL. could be little exaggerated but it is how popular games like DotA is around the region. The competitive scene and prize pool involved are also significant larger than the almost non-existence SC2 scene purely down to these games attracts a lot more people. Skill-cap of a game doesn't seems to matter much here.

I would love LoL get 10 millions viewers and SC2 die if that is what it take for E-sport to be a mainstream sport. wow saying this in a starcraft forum takes alot of guts bro... Might not be the best way to express his argument but I understand his sentiment

Except every game is a different sport. I love rugby, despise football and i care a little about tennis. For E-sports, it is the same thing, I love starcraft, like fighting games and fucking hate LoL, just because it takes screen time from my beloved MC.

Why dont they have one winners ceremony for ALL players/games at the end of the tournament? Would help keeping the schedule on time.

Surely you know how terrible team games are in SC2 :p And not everyone sport/e-sport is better as a team game

Has a really high stream count. actually somehow LOL has bigger numbers than sc2 ^^ last time they hit 200k :O
if that's true. that would say alot about the popularity of team e-sports than 1 v 1 competitions.

No shit? it's a Starcraft Forum too, with standards. And one of the best things about TeamLiquid is you don't have to fight your way through a ton of garbage to get to the information your looking for, except for Live Report threads when people turn them into a giant steaming pile of shit by posting exactly what the mods asked you to PLEASE not post on the top of the thread.

The same can really be said about starcraft, the vast majority of viewers will be players themselves and I doubt there are a significant number of people who watch sc2 matches without playing the game themselves.
LoL has a huge playerbase so there are a lot of people tuning into the matches. Don't dismiss it simply because it isn't as spectator friendly as sc2 as moba is quite possibly the second best games format for spectating. I don't even play the game but I can see it being more interesting than say CS for a viewer. I got a friend interested in GSL and he never played starcraft before. Now hes a convert (: I have no idea if LoL is a good game or not, but its certaintly not designed to be a spectator sport.

For Lol there was 120k viewers, and now 110k have left? For the finals of LoL there was 120k Currently on Own3d.tv , there are 55k watching LoL ceremonies and 15k people on the SC2 stream but the sc2 stream is showing the same stage. We'll see how many will watch Sc2 once it starts, I have a feeling a decent amount seeing as a ton of LoL players watch sc2 as well. Well if SC2 was free-of-charge, and you had to pay $70 for LOL, the opposite would happen as well.
let's be honest with ourselves, sc2 wouldn't be HUGE as in being installed in a lot of computers and being played actively even if it was free. it just isn't casual friendly. it's way too hard core for most people and that doesn't pull in people at all. LoL just has a game better for business.
