That's pointless because he can't drone up anyway.

i think moonglade did that due to the map and spawning position. Nice try, but sentries shut it down.

It would be really completely missdesigned if a player could expand a third time behind such a pressure built with 26 drones.

Because it's Moonglade

3 Base with 26 Drones, actually makes no sense, but keep on driving the hate train.

I find it funny that BW Terrans imported many of their BW strategies (drops all over, harrass, siege tank pushes) almost immediately to SC2 and tried to make them work. Protoss seem to just be rediscovering what they did for years in BW. Sure, they tried it every now and then, but it seemed they gave up pretty quickly and are now just trying them again.

That warp prism play is very situational. One viking will shut warp prism completely since they are so weak

He didn't even have enough drones to saturate 2 bases. That is why he built a macro hatch. He was pretty much all-in.

it's a 4 day event and IEM has a lot of different games for spectating

stretching matches out isn't that great for online spectators that are only interested in a single game, but IEM has to schedule for 4 days

Since this is a tournament being held at a tradeshow, they want to start on the first day and end on the final day. Wednesday was group A and B, Thursday was group C and D, today is quarterfinals, tomorrow is semis, and Sunday is 3rd/4th and finals.

i generally only watch BW and SC2, but I have watched some other things on stream during this. I've been trying to broaden my ESPORTS horizon and appreciation, even if I don't start following other games. Consider this a good opportunity to learn about LoL, Halo, whatever football game they were playing, GW2 (!), etc.

EDIT: Or, you know, only watch a bit of Starcraft on a given day and do other stuff.

FFE is not always the best strategy with wide open naturals like on metal that require you to lose a lot of production. If that was Shakura's MaNa would have not lost a unit.

Edit: A player like MaNa can hold even on metal though.

It's not funny at all it's completely normal.

Warp prism drops are situational, and incredibly risky. Dropping templar got nerfed from BW to SC1. But Terran drops got buffed from SC1 to SC2... so obviously terrans do drops and Protoss barely ever use shuttle templar.

Moonglades 'pressure' cannot transition so it is all in. If he wants to do the same pressure but be able to transition he would have to carry on droning and so the push is delayed. Basically, the build that moon glade tried to do was an all in, because any other decision apart from "rally units to his base and try and kill him" would lead to a sure loss.

did MC discover how to make HT viable again?

They never stopped being viable.

of course they weren't viable PvT against ghost, jeeeeeez!

Yeah they really were. Hence why you still see them used all the time, hence why you still see them win all the time.

I saw them getting EMP'd if thats what you mean..

Not arguing with trolls. Everyone who watches SC2 knows that HT's have been a viable option for months and that ghosts are not an insta-counter.

Of course they're viable, but ghosts have the upper hand in that engagement. Remember these things:

-With its area included, EMP outranges feedback.
-Ghosts can also snipe templars
-Templars are so slow that they're either too far back (Army dead by the time storms come), or too close (ghostbait), finding the correct positioning is tremendously difficult for protoss.
-Terran, with scans and faster units usually have the sight advantage, observers can be easily shut down by terran

Remeber that game MC vs PuMa on NASL finals on Tal'darim?? Game 6 I think. The ONLY reason MC won is because PuMa misplaced 2 ghosts, getting them close to a ramp outside MC's natural, where he didn't have vision upwards so MC could feedback them. It's basically the story of late-game PvT, you just wait for terran to make a mistake, if he plays it right, he'll always have a slight advantage.

The Warpprism has 140 HP ( combined ) thats just 10 less then a Medivac. Its not like 1 Viking will instantly kill it.
