So isn't that the definition of getting outplayed? Ret played better than Naniwa, therefore Ret outplayed him...

Can't you read?

He completely gave away ~10 sentries, that's not getting outplayed, that's him screwing himself over.

If i kill my own hatch at the beginning of the game, that's not getting outplayed.

Killing your own hatch can be a misclick

Losing 8 sentries because you are too slow to force field is naniwa playing really badly.

It happens all the time?

No it doesn't.

It's ultra standard in soccer to interview the losing coach and some random players. Of course it might not be 5 minuts after the match.

Don't get the big deal about it. It's interesting for the viewers to hear the thoughts of the players and ultimately viewers pay the bill for progamers, so just suck it up and do an interview

Naniwa even complained about close pos being the main problem for him in game 3. And you guys are saying "it's balanced now"...seriously?

Not balanced, but this is Blizz's tourney. Naniwa knew coming in that close pos was a possibility. If he didn't like it he doesn't have to play (eg. NASL).

Are close positions on maps why Naniwa withdrew from NASL2?

Naniwa withdrew from NASL because of the times NASL needed him to play matches at due to NASL's desire to live broadcast matches

finally a zerg uses burrow micro, gonna be so scary when they start doing it one by one like blink

Except that unlike Blink it can be completely neutralised by the presence of detection. Opportunities to use burrow micro to it's fullest are few and far between.

Ret didn't use burrow micro in the sense you want to think he did. He just used it to wait for force fields.

The problem with Burrow is that when you burrow you can take damage during the animation. With Blink you take 0 damage during the animation.

Burrow will never be Blink.

To be fair Roaches are dirt cheap.

Mmm speed/burrow upgrade included?

That doesn't make any difference if they're dirt cheap. They take damage during the animation, Stalkers don't. It renders the burrow micro we'd like to have pretty useless unless they just don't have detection.

well to be fair with the animation.. they do have alot of hp to room that micro

The animation just makes it awkward, perhaps someone can find the timing required to do it correct perhaps I have to burrow when they're at 80% and account for shots incoming but until then it's just awkward and I won't say impossible, I'll say undiscovered.

Naniwa's fault for going for a 7 gate timing attack and losing to the common counter of burrowed roaches. Not the map or close pos fault, his fault.

There really aren't many other viable strats for these positions imo. It has to be some kind of 1 or 2 base all-in or starve to death against mass roaches.

Difference is if you kill your own hatch that's intentional, him giving away 10 sentries is not intentional, it was because Ret outplayed him at that point in time.

The reason close position sucks is entirely to do with larvae injection. If the zerg goes for a macro game, he 'will' be eventually caught in a round of drones if he's playing the usual razer edge of zerg production.

This means that zergs most of the time attempt some sort of timings on these positions, which the other races expect and prepare for. Unfortunately it seems Naniwa didn't prepare to fight on close positions for this tourney since he looked pretty pissed about the spawn, so it could quite possibly be him just following a usual build order + pressure on that map which fell victim to the burrow timing.
