I really hope that Puzzle can win this. He's just wayyyy better player than Tassadar and really deserves that Code S spot..

People only 4gate non-stop if they feel they are the inferior player. There isn't much one person can do when the other side is dedicating to the 4gate, but it isn't significantly harder to defend.

Longer games favor the better player, which is Puzzle in this case, so Tassadar most likely just doesn't ever want to let the game go that far. No doubt he never goes blink, which really, unless you have 300+apm, you aren't going to be able to keep up with the Stalker micro of Puzzle.

It sucks that games end this way of one side just really wants to 4gate, Puzzle has never pushed the issue, just opened 4gates into blink, Tassadar just doesn't feel confident to play Puzzle in anything other than 4gate

I think it's just Tassadar. Essentially suiciding those first units to get the pylon in the main seem very strong. However, it means that he basically auto-loses if puzzle also 4 gates. If he didn't go so aggressive and tried to save the initial 2 until warp ins, then a number of non 4 gate builds would be viable.

Think it still needs a patch to have other build orders more viable. Not to kill the 4 gate, just something which makes the 4g a riskier build. As it is, 4gate in PvP isn't risky, it's a 1 base all-in with no risk unless your opponent 4 gates.

doesnt need a patch, it needs players that are good enough. It's been almost two months now that we've seen plenty of pvp from players that are good enough to make anyone who 4gates look like they belong in diamond but these two not so much. This time it's the players not the game.

more than anything i feel sympathy for professional players whose careers are decided by pvp. in bw i felt something for zergs because of zvz, but muta / ling micro and macro was infinitely more complex than sc2 pvp so at least monster gosus like jaedong were able to sustain some incredible records. 4 gate micro, on the other hand, is so damn simple (and requires 0 decision making) that protoss pros are flipping a coin for their career
