We will be moderating harshly in this thread. Think twice before you post. Things we are watching for: image macros, balance whining, "eagles", player bashing etc. We encourage civil and reasoned critique of our moderation - please post it in the website feedback forum. Please don't complain about MLG stream quality or MLG itself. They work very hard to provide you with an enjoyable service. Enough with the racism discussions, this is a LR Thread. Cut it out. -- updated 7:55 KST

I mean anypro just does 2 base timing pushes every game whereas Naniwa tries to take a third and/or a fourth base.. honorable but obviously a death wish.

Np though since losira just countered it by droning hard on 3 bases. so with 3 phoenixes(450 minerals 300 gas) and void ray(250 minerals 150 gas) he killed like 5 ovies and 3 queens, which is only like 1000 minerals, it didn't pay off at all.

Not to mention getting to that stage of being able to do that super quickly with the damn z macro mechanics... :\ The day they learn that the twilight council unlocks other options than blink we may be in trouble. Game 1 Naniwa needed to be able to reinforce with chargelots (not slowlots) and/or have templar for storm. Game 2 he needed to either apply pressure or go macro crazy himself. Just sitting back making a few units but not using them is never a valid option for any race. The fact is the top level zergs can (unlike a lot of the diamond masters players) deal with colossi very well and some protoss even at the highest level are still always going for a blind colossus build. There were no hydras to counter, immortals and zealots deal with roaches and lings respectively. Why does the toss invest so heavily in colossi ? Loisira even had a spire going down, no hydras in sight at all. Another thing only a few toss are taking advantage of is the chronoboost on upgrades to get a hard advantage there. This is especially true when using zealots and when facing lings because of the very high return zealots get from attack upgrades and the reduction of ling attack by armor.

The people who earned it are the pros who adapted their play to suit their race. I am glad zergs are doing well now... it's just unfortunate that the bullshit about balance never stops though. hahahahahahhahh amen

I don't see the issue. Gretorp is actually an extremely good terran, he's just been casting a lot and playing HoN and not practicing as much. If Demuslim deserved the spot, he would've gotten into the Championship Loser's bracket at a bare minimum. Terrible example.

On June 06 2011 02:04 Heavenly wrote: Also people who say zergs are macro monsters...mechanics in this game are NOT hard for a top tier player. IdrA doesn't even practice his mechanics because literally all you do is build overlords and drone up as much as you can while scouting for pressure. Ret also said that macro is easy (basically, people would ask him how he can make so many drones and he just said it's easy to make a ton of units). The mechanics of SC2 are so ridiculously simplified with shift-queue, inject larva, worker rallies that being a zerg "MACRO BEAST literally means nothing. Once you get your inject larva timings down and don't get supply blocked macro is not hard. This game is almost entirely about positioning and decision making, macro almost means nothing. Such a facepalm moment when people act like someone is a macro god. By macro monster they been how Losira stayed on the bleeding edge of economy building. He always had just enough to stay alive up until he had the economy he wanted and then he crushed through Naniwa.

Protoss can never outexpand a good zerg. Protoss must pressure the zerg to control zerg's potential army size. If you let the zerg take the map you can't win no matter what your unit compositition is.
