Some don't cuz people prepare builds ahead of time and if your opponent switches it really screws with them. Dreamhack allows it, big thing in favour of MorroW there ![]() shouldnt be allowed anywhere tbh its not like u have to know all matchups to race pick, you need to know just one and it already gives u massive advantage Well, obviously you have to state before you enter a tournament that you are going to play ZvT ZvT and TvZ. Then everyone will know exactly what matchups to prepare for. I am all for allowing racepicking in tournaments as long as you make it clear before you enter the competition which matchups you are going to play, ie not allowing changing during the run of the tournament. ZpuX! O_O Where have you been? XD I remember watching Zotac Cups with you back in the beta! XD

I just tuned in and was rather suprised. He's apparently decided to play TvZ consistently. Because he doesn't like ZvZ ? Fair enough. Do tournaments allow this ? That's intresting. They should allow it imo. Being able to play more than one race competently should be an advantage that a player earns. The whole "other player doesn't get to prepare" is a lame excuse, they should be able to play all matchups. it shouldn't be allowed, there would be non-stop race-switching if people wanted to play a certain matchup (for example if nerchio didnt like zvt and wanted to pvt instead, but then morrow wanted to zvp, so nerchio went back to zvz....where does that stop?) Uhm, make them pick without knowing their opponents race pick. It's not rocket science...

That's why GSL disallows race switching, while most other couple-day tournaments don't really care.

Kinda similar to how in team matches a Random player completely screws over the decision of who to send out because you can't snipe them.

In MLGs rules it states that the players must report to the ref before each match what they will play, if I am not mistaken. It should definately be allowed. Can't see why it should not be a tool for someone with sufficient skills in more than one race.

They need to prepare for all matchups, and if they are properly prepared they will know the opponent can switch races and will be prepared for that. The fact they need to learn two races should be rewarded not punished.

Not really sure what you were comparing with, I was just giving my opinion on why race picking should be allowed and under what circumstances to avoid people from not letting others prepare properly for a match.

And why shouldn't it - if a player has the ability to play more than one race at the necessary competetive level why should he not be allowed to leverage that for options?
