Further balance whining will result in severe bans. Time stamp 21:09 KST. |

He can lose this series now to break that pattern..lol j/k <3 mkp

Cmon MKP show em whos boss

Just looking at the brackets made me realize how little very good Zergs are in the GSL system. Compared to the amount of amazing Terrans and Protoss that I think could take this there is basically just Nestea and Leenock now (not balance whining, just observing).

He won against GuineaPig...

ace playing well. Fruitdealer playing well, but falling aprt in the end.

These Startale protosses are greedy as hell

I can't see Squirtle winning this, but if he does, i'll maybe stop considering him overrated.

Missed the first 3 sets, but glad I get to see MKP and Squirtle, one of my 2 favorite players

I still think FD lost that game when he decided he wanted to wait 100 in game seconds for his Spire to be rebuilt so he could get mutas instead of a den which takes less than half as long and would've don't a lot better against nothing but stalkers and vr when defending his last mining base.

The difference is the mindset between the two players.
When fruitdealer lost his 4th base he didn't retake it until after he realized he isn't winning the game easily. He had BroodLords AND a roach ball and with this total map dominance did not bother to take a 5th or 6th base. He didn't even bother to shat creep over the enemy's expansions. FD was playing for the BroodLord push, he had no plans post-BL push. He didn't even use that excess gas to make a mass of burrowable versatile infestors, instead he made panic-speedlings/spines, which ultimately mineral-starved him
When Ace saw the BroodLord push he immediately moved to secure additional bases for a base-trade scenario. He moves his whole army up and around the top, knowing that if he sweeps FD's expansions, he has a chance of victory, especially since he killed the spire and has trump voidrays. He sunk all his excess gas into high templar, because in any low econ situation, caster units are good to have
Ace played for the long term advantage, FD played for the immediate advantage. This difference was the game. GG his 4rth got sniped 2 or 3 times by a small force of stalkers + zealots

Wow. I was always laughing a little bit inside when I heard Squirtles name until someone told me it's a pokemon xD
Man, games like the last one hurt so much when you are a FD fan - that is typical fruitdealer

Say what FD could have done? I don't see you can defend vs. this well executed all-in Right, it's a completely flawless strategy that always wins. Don't be ridiculous. I'm so sick of seeing people coming in and going "OKAY THEN, WHAT COULD HE HAVE DONE?!" while throwing up their hands in desperation with tears rolling down their faces. Look at Nestea's ZvP winrate: 85%. Or Losira's: 72%. They must be doing something right to be defeating Toss players with such consistency. Try using your brain for once. Lol your argument is so good. "This all-in is ok, because Nestea has 85% win rate". Do you even read what you write? What does nestea has to do here at all lol? I think his other point has merit, before claiming imbalance, just look at the possibilities that exist. There is almost always a way to deal with something, don't let frustration blind you. I am not frustrated, I just often see zerg being crushed by this all-in and don't really see how can you defend that. It's still sad when you see someone tried everything they can to specifically stop that right from the start of the game and still failed.

Isnt that BW player s2 and not Ace in that picture lol?

lol is it difficult to punish a nexus first toss as terran? Look at MC 1gate expo?

MKP, kill him quick
Lol no way. I'm sure he watched all his games and he knows what Squirtle is capable of. There's no way he's going into this thinking it's gonna be a walkover.

Or superior decision making? The decisions he made that game can easily be compared to Nestea's in he's match vs SC. And people are still calling the matchup imba even after all the results? Lol. I wouldn't necessarily call it superior decision making. There was really only one choice he could legitimately make.. which was to kill off fruit dealer's mining bases. Any other choice would have resulted in him losing and almost any pro protoss, in his situation, would likely make that one given they have the tech to blink stalkers to allow for mobility and the ability to avoid an engagement head-on with the opponents army. I would just call it good use of blink.
Actually, he had a few choices to make. Most Protoss players would just try defend, and I'm sure he would have as well, but he saw FDs army and didn't see 1 anti air unit and instantly decided to counter attack while killing the broods with he's VR, while making a base on the high ground so he could cannon the small choke.
He completely outplayed FD there's no doubt, FD needed Infestors, you need infestors in general vs that mass blink army..Pretty sure every zerg should know that by now..I guess not.
