Hoping that one day FOX setup a SC2 team and we can see them play since the gstl format changes/

GSTL every week is great though.
While the SCII may have been more volatile a few months ago, as time goes on Code S is beginning to reflect the true top 32 players. It makes it tougher to move up to Code S but at the same time has a forgiveness factor for those players in Code S. Plus with an expanded GSTL the 'Code A' players will still gain playing experience etc. Only problem would be if SCI pros switch over and people who'd potentially be the best players would take some time to get into Code S. But that concern is only theoretical.

Great changes! Though I would probably prefer if code A was made into an offline qualifier like code B, and instead focus even more on GSTL. I believe it would be much more beneficial to have an equal focus on the GSL and GSTL, basically like a starleague + proleague from bw.

10 week teamleague OMFG :DD
also the earlier code A will help americans, but kinda annoying for me in Aus because it starts an hour before i get home.

Awesome changes! keep up the good work GOM!

Thats going to change Incontrol, Tyler and Idra opinion about MLG + GSL player exchange.
We've known that the winner of MLG would get Code S since the exchange announcement. Though is that this MGL? Because in the original announcement it said starting next MLG.

Wow, GSTL is closer to becoming like Proleague. Very good change by GOM. Now hopefully in the near future they'll make it a year-long season.
|
I like these changes, Very good imo. Glad they are using msl format now too.
|
EDIT: Wrong thread. But I love these changes, esp the long GSTL. Gom realized how good the games are in GSTL hehe.

Winner of MLG was only supposed get Code A prior to this announcement. I think this is a much better way and more fair for both scenes, almost no pro expressed interest to go to korea for Code A when they are good enough to win MLG, since they can obviously win in the foreign scene and do good for themselves.

I really, really, really, really like these changes.

I actually like the Up & down changes. This means that we won't see group of death like MMA, MKP, and Huk in the Up and down matches, and while placing all 15 competitors in 1 group would be overkill, splitting into 3 groups would still enable the best to show that they are really deserving of a code S spot.
I don't understand this seemingly new sentiment that only 1 code S in each group will drop. This was the case in previous seasons too, it's just that two of them went into up and down matches, and since only top 8 from code A went into up and down, at most, only 1 code S player would drop. So if you think that only 1 code S in each group will drop is unfair, then it better be a previous complaint as well.

At MLG Columbus, the Top 3 non-Korean finishers will each be placed into GSL Code A. At every 2011 Pro Circuit Live Competition after MLG Columbus, GSL placement will occur as follows: Code S status will be awarded to the highest placing player, within the Top 3, regardless of country of origin, who does not already have Code S status. Code S status will not be awarded if all of the players placing 1st-3rd already have Code S Status. Code A status will be awarded to the next three highest placing non-Korean players. If Code S status is awarded to a Korean player, or not awarded at all, Code A status also will be awarded to the 4th highest placing non-Korean player.
...?

OMG! Now all we need is a GSTL SC2 Fantasy league
|
Wow, thats some huge changes. Really glad they are doing this!
|
so great news. They really listen to the community. MLG winner gets code s spot, GSTL every week, great up/down changes, etc etc
really great to see that tournaments like GSL (and recently MLG) are listening to the community and continually improve
|
Hmm.. How will the prices for the tournaments go? Also, is teamliquid counted into the ten teams the teamleague? If so, will TL be sending all their players to Korea?
|
Is that a typo for the second place prize? A missing zero? Because otherwise even the Coach Award is more than 2nd place.
|
They should have a foreigner team
liquid people + whoever in the foreigner house
will be a few more people once MLG winners get seeded etc.
Ive heard Naniawa and QXC are interested in going to korea, winner of the road to korea tourny Sase?, and moonglade if hes still in korea
if nothing else for the hype
