I'm not even complaining about imba though... I never even mentioned balance T_______T

all I'm saying is that its really fucking hard to react properly to what protoss is doing and they have a lot of very safe options at their disposal, that's a cointoss (game design) issue not a statistical balance one

If it was an actual coin toss, then Zerg wouldn't be doing as well as they are in the matchup if it boiled down to those situations, particularly if the Protoss had all the safe options you suggest. So I'll have to disagree with you here.

by definition it would come out to ~50%, would it not?

No, because that would mean that player skill is completely irrelevant, and it comes down to me picking A and you picking B = You win, me picking A you picking C = I win for a coin flip situation, there are elements of scouting where you have to guess, but these exist for every race and if they didn't it would have to be reflected in win rates because you suggest Protoss have a number of safe options, this would mean that Zerg players would have to outplay the Protoss near 100% of the time to achieve a 50% win rate, which is a stretch and then some.

still, what are you supposed to do if you see a bunch of units headed at you? make units, but what if he isn't actually allin? there's no way to know what he intends to do, he could cancel the expo and go allin or let it finish and be ahead because you had to make all those units. I don't know how to describe that as anything but a guessing game

p.s those banelings were beautiful O____O

LOL at all this bias. You have only seen nestea play in gsl. Nestea doesn't even have a 60% winrate on ladder, he gets mad at forcefields all the time. He loses alot. Stop thinking nestea is a god and is reinventing the matchup. Hes good. Thats all there is to it. Btw, if he has robo, you DONT GET HYDRAS? LOL what kind of retarded logic is that? are you telling me that you build roaches against immortals? LOL hydras are essential to immortals. The hard part is that the toss can choose if they want collosus or immortal, so its hard to scout and predict.

Players like Nestea take ladder extremely seriously.

Exactly.

1. Nestea has played off-race on ladder. Either he is dicking around or IM players share accounts with one another to hide their builds on ladder.

2. Nestea has said he plays worse on ladder to hide builds against GSL opponents.

So does stasis from broodwar, lockdown from broodwar

Please say you're joking, units that are stasis'd cannot be attacked, units blocked by forcefields stack for collo to kill them faster. Stasis is also less available.

Lockdown ONLY worked on mechanical units, was on an expensive unit that did little other good, and took a huge amount of tech to obtain.

Don't talk about things you don't understand.

And Lockdown only worked on more than 2 units if you had god-like micro.

Not to mention it required 100 energy PER UNIT.

I merely just listed all ability that removed micro from the game. No one said they had to be equally good or bad.

Except lockdown added micro because if you saw the other terran going ghosts you could counter with medics which were cheaper, faster to make and a lower focus priority.

Stasis was countered by preparing for the wear-off and engaging immediately after.

I'm simply stating your statements are wrong, to bring them up is simply stupid if you don't know how they work.

That's why I'm not commenting on the balance of Fungal/Forcefield because I don't know all of their intricacies yet.

You can be extra safe and win if he all-ins, be slightly behind if he doesn't. You can make just enough units to survive the initial attack and make units continuously to hold it off, with good control. Or you can make very few units, risk losing to the all-in or getting ahead if he doesn't attack.

IdrA chose option L,M,N,O,P... Make a ton of units, attack the pressure, sees the expansion, semi-all ins with poor control and overcommits(He actually ran all the way around a couple of forcefields to get crushed continuing to attack instead of pulling out), then he's waaay behind.

You're arguing a point no one has contested in the first place. Dont know where that came from

No kidding. There's not a single zerg on the planet at the same level as Nestea. Hell I wouldn't be surprised if IdrA himself was willing to admit that.

A guy like Nestea can just practice versus any top Z/P/T any time he likes, he has no purpose for ladder at all other than to dick about. There's not a player in Korea who wouldn't want to practice versus the best Zerg in the world.

Thats taking away the defenders advantage isn't it Monsieur? You gotta rely on whatever you can to win and we all know its hard to be the one attacking and reinforcing. Yeah there is a lot of uncertainty but Zerg could have made a small pack of 10 lings and ran to scout the nexus to see if it was going to be canceled or not- and even better run into the base and do damage.

Zergs forget what backstabbing is some days. Its not a coinflip its a stagnant idea of playstyle where without 80 drones you lose. Without 80 drones immediately you lose. You can play differently. You can say, not go banelings and use zerglings to drain sentry energy by attacking from multiple directions at once. Theres a lot of ways to play and I hear this BM about coin flips when Zerg plays passively and lets protoss attack.

Its a long long trip from the Nexus to the Hatch. Make it last for them.

Wait, I thought they got a bunch of sponsors that were announced around MLG Dallas? Or am I mixing that up with one of the April Fools posts? I know there was one about them being sponsored by Root Beer, but I thought there was an actual legit thread.

Justin.tv, IGN and Pokerstars sponsored them (though pokerstars is currently in some legal trouble), also Kiwikaki got a personal Sponsor in Dr Pepper for MLG Events.

Ok, who in which pro game countered ghost with medic. The only player that used medic for blind in a few games was Really from estro when he used medics against obs to make his mines better ie his game versus Janbi.

Stasis are not countered by preparing for wearoff. Stasis is countered by emp+ or slow spread out push. I really don't like people talking out of their ass about BW shit they don't understand.

Stasis does remove micro so don't try to reason that. Also just because you can fight it with emp doesn't mean it doesn't stop micro. Just as you can feign with roaches to force preemptive ff.
