Well ... that was a demonstration of why that tactic doesn't work well imho.
It doesn't deal enough damage fast enough and leave enough units to mop up, and forcefields does block off the banelings so he can spread out with blink. And if he doesn't keep his colossi together, they can't be effectively killed by banelings either.
... also, it demonstrates why neural parasite is so bad against anything but opposition spellcasters (taking over a ghost to emp ghosts, templar to storm and feedback their own units, is awesome, but otherwise ... nah).
Was as entertaining game though. Really fun to watch.

how long more to the MKP games? Someone give me an estimate please :p

wow @ the people just dismissing the strat because it didn't win the game
The game was close, but Genius played better, Genius isn't some scrub, play that game again and it could have easily gone towards Losira

That was a really interesting game. I don't know if banelings were a good choice, though. They aren't very cost effective against stalkers and Colossi, and he spent his energy on neural which allowed Genius to spread and make them even less cost effective.

Yea actually the stalker spread and FF timings were excellent. Just whining for no reason. Genius played well and Losira f-ed up.

Does anyone else have a problem getting the HQ stream to work?.. im getting the 0x0000071 error code... the free SQ is working though...

all those banelings did indeed look like they could of just a-moved and killed everything in some situations. I think he used neural parasite because otherwise 9 range collosi might snipe the infestors.
Genius actually played how I thought protoss should play vs infestors, he spread and split everything as well as throwing down forcefield walls.
Cool build though, hope to see more of it.

Genius has great blink micro and stalker splits against banes -> he played boring.
God, people are so biased. That was awesome control.

He also didn't have a maxed carrier army, obviously he has no idea how to do this style... There's a limit to what you can afford you know.
Losira tried to play this style in a safe way, only starting his third when his infestors were out and he knew he could hold it, but that obviously weakened his economy a lot. He was hanging on for dear life, there was no way he could've afforded to tech to ultras/bl during all of this.

Ok, Artosis said Kyrix ZvZ is sickening good, Losira got this.

Bingo. Lings doesn't work really.
|
With all those neural parasites, he should have gone for massive lings maybe, dump gas into more upgrades, as the lings don't get melted by the colossus anyway

yeah it is frustrating to watch a zerg have a better strat but worse unit control and composition and therefore lose. its as if he had a part of the winning combo but then forgot the other parts are also important.

That was nothing to do with balance, Genius executed much better overall.

losira has nestea to train zvz with so hope for the best

The AoE damage from the banelings is super effective in dealing with the standard Protss deathballs which has a large number of units clumped up in a small amount of area.

Didn't Kyrix beat Losira on this map during the team leagues or something?
