If you guys want to watch out for a Chinese Terran player, keep your eye on TylooInfi. He's a top 5 WC3 player who is currently ranked #1 on the SC2 grandmaster ladder despite still not officially switching yet. If you look at Tyloo's webpage, he isn't even listed on their SC2 roster. That's because he's just laddering right now, and is only playing WC3 competitively. If he switches, it'd make him the best WC3 player to switch so far. And before you bring up Grubby, Moon, and Lyn, those guys are more like historical legends, the Boxers of WC3 if you will, whereas Infi is top 5 RIGHT NOW.
I think this guy already switched. Here's a game between him and Xiaot (incidentally.)

Im not a fan of his though.

What did they miss? (hasn't been mentioned) The Baneling drops, what was going on at right hand side of the map as XiaoTs stalker got caught near the Xel'Naga on the left. At some point there was a drop in the main during the final battle (when they panned back a bunch of Zealots were there). That is just what I remember off the top of my head.

Afaik that's just wrong. Moon, Grubby and Lyn were still on the very top when SC2 was released and they started playing it.You can't compare them to Boxer at all.

Just wanted to point out (And I hope this can be taken into account seriously) that the Chinese SC2 servers were only up for beta on the 29th of March 2011, that means most chinese players/pros were only able to play Competitively and lag-freely since then.
Why did I say that? Because for the Chinese pros, they usually only play native LAN games and competitions. Hence, SC2 competitions were only available after the offical release of the game (that would be in april 2011), and after blizzard officially allows tornaments to be set up by its partners in China .
Hence, you would not see too much pros (most SC2 pros in China would, as you imagine, come from BW and WC3, but mainly WC3.) switch to focus on SC2 before the tornaments are out and pirze pools increase to a similar level as that of WC3 leagues.
So you may have seen XiaoT and Xigua play previously, but I'd be certain that they were not as good as they are now. And I'd say there are still yet a huge room for improvement since they are still in the period of "transformation" from WC3 TO SC2.
That might be the main reason why these players are not famous in the SC2 community before this series, as this is probably one of the first offical series in China to be that big and international.
We should only regard this Stars War as the tornament that introduces the top SC2 players in China to the World. Which is trying to pass this message onto the world SC2 community: "Watch out! Here we come!"

Yeah Grubby and Lyn placed 2nd and 3rd in the most recent WCG so they were clearly still top tier players at the time of their switch. Moon, on the other hand, was good but no longer truly elite. Even so Moon isn't anywhere comparable to Boxer, who wasn't even in the kespa top 100 at any point in 2010.

Moon won e-Star Seoul August 2010 beating Lyn and Grubby 3-0 in the semifinal and final and then one month later in fnatic PLAY Beat It! he beat Remind and Lyn and lost only to TH000 1:2 in the final. Had to look this up but there you have it, Moon was still on the very top as well.

Lyn, like Remind, is a relative late-bloomer in the WC 3 scene so he wasn't comparable in the first place.
WC 3 near its end was basically a round robin between the top players - there were few new players post-2009 who could challenge the favorites. The Chinese player that consistently took down Moon is TH000, but he would generally lose to Remind, who would usually lose to Infi, who would typically lose to Lyn, who would regularly lose to Fly100 or TH000. Moon, in turn, tends to win against Grubby, who had a fair run against most of the top players but wasn't winning much towards the end of his career.
The advantage Infi has over Grubby and Moon in SC 2, I'd say, is that he's a younger player, relatively speaking. Grubby and Moon have been playing WC 3 at the top level for 7-8 years, and are now both married. While I still think Grubby would come to be one of the top EU Protosses, the transition has not been as easy for him as it has been for some of the other WC 3 players. For Moon, it's probably similar, though the GSL system also holds back a lot of good players due the way its qualification works.
For Infi, he's dabbled in SC 2 in the past, but he hasn't yet made the switch. Partly that's because being a WC 3 pro-gamer pays more in China than being a SC 2 pro-gamer. Yet, the number of games he's played in SC 2 seems to indicate a switch as one doesn't put that much time and effort in a game without an intent to switch.
If he does switch, he'll probably become the best Chinese Terran, as the level of talent and experience Infi brings to the table largely outstrips what Loner has shown.

oh, nice, didn't know infi played sc2. that guy is really really good ! Along with TH000, by far the best human players in wc3 after sky/tod days. (though sky is still up there, I really feel that TH000 and Infi have more potential)
