Artosis eventually admits when he's wrong (I remember MKP-TT1 being particularly bad) and it's not like they're not excited to cast Korean matches. Inc seemed fine to me too; give nada the respect he deserves, then you can root for whoever. I do think casters should at last try to remain unbiased in their commentary though, and not just lol it off. It's not a national competition, and English speaking people rooting for Korean players should be able to enjoy the cast too. Root for whoever you want but don't let it affect the quality of casting (like praising foreigners for doing nothing special at all, make excuses for BM). I find it annoying as a Swede I agree with your sentiment and while I usually root for a foreigner I would prefer if the casters at least tried to be as unbiased as possible. Iit can be quite hard (I don't have time to watch many games) for me to get a clue about how good the players are or how the players are as persons when the casting is biased.

I tried every browser, flash versions, hardware accelerations etc, do the vods stutter for everybody? I'm struggling to even get on the NASL and justin.tv/nasl sites at the moment. I haven't even been able to find last night's vods yet. Anyone got a direct link?

Stream is working ok, but the site did time out the first three times I tried to go to the link. Must be some network issues at the justin.tv end I guess. Though as I said the nasl site isn't behaving too well either for me.

You'd have to have played / followed brood war to understand just how awesome it is when a foreigner beats a korean. If inc. gets excited like that its cause he's passionate about the game. Again, you'd understand if u followed BW lol

With SC2 the international fans are finally getting to enjoy the game in a way which suits us better. More countries represented, more diverse players, interviews in English, and major events of interest outside Korea and during more accessible hours. Every foreigner who beats a Korean during this time of transition is a testament to how international and embraced by the whole world SC2 is, and thus it is understandable, and not unwanted for foreign casters to feel excited upon watching such games. Lastly I'd like to add I think both Artosis and Incontrol do a great job of maintaining a somewhat neutral approach to the games they cast despite their hearts beating for a player in particular. To some extent you have to let a caster put part of himself into a cast, rather than being a robot making sure not show emotion or say something the slightest controversial. (Also, I suspect Koreans themselves are very nationalistic and biased towards their players, to an extent which surpasses that of foreigners (who right now if for example american seem to love europeans as much as other americans and vice versa <3). I don't know if I'm right but I think I heard Korean pro gamers think it a disgrace above all to lose to foreigners etc.)

I'm one of the people who was really dissapointed with production on tuesday, but now I know I will keep watching because they've proven to us that as a league, they are genuinely listening to us players from advice and they are taking it up without hesitation. It has started off on a rocky road but it wlll be and unbelieveable cast to watch once some of the minor lag is sorted out, and iNcontroL and Gretorp grow as casters, which they have already started doing. Good job guys.

There only was bias in the Axslav / Squirtle game. And I guess the bias existed mainy because Axslav is a team mate of Incontrol, not because of Squirtles nationality. Maybe Incontrol should reduce bias towards team mates, but I guess thats hard when you are emotionally invested in the game. Imo thats better than not caring at all. In any case the pro foreigner bias has always been MUCH bigger in the commentary of Artosis. And strangely in his case most seemed to be fine with that.

the casters' jobs are to make the games enjoyable for everyone watching their favorite players. if a fan is pissed after a game, it should be because of the game itself; a fan shouldn't have to be pissed because of a caster. in general, i think incontrol is doing a very good job casting. and i haven't noticed any particular bias with him, i'm just sayin'

I've also been prone to root for Koreans not only for their high level play, but also because I believe it's essential that Korea keeps the pole position in order for the scene to survive in the shadow of it's predecessor. If, for some reason, the scene outside of Korea had the highest level of play and the Korean players struggled to keep up with foreigners, chances are they would ignore SC2 and stick to the already established (and as of now arguably better) BW. So, essentially we'd end up in a situation where the Korean scene focus exclusively on BW, a game which at this point wont cause a breakthrough of eSports in the west, and the foreigners on SC2. Okay, that is not an issue in itself but without the Korean scene at the forefront of eSports there'd be nothing for the foreign scene to attempt keeping up with, and the interest for SC2 would fade away sooner rather than later. Wow, what a pointless wall of text I'm spewing here. Well, might as well leave it there now.. Anyway, it's hard to not be biased in one way or another, and as long as it's not overly noticeable I think it's fine for casters to be as well. I mean, it's not unheard of in other "established" sports either.
