Nice i was 4/5 for liquibet today and I'm only down one because naniwa didn't play. I'm sure he would have won too. I'm surprised so many people voted for haypro, maybe they just don't know kawaiirice, or that haypro performs poorly in casted matches.

I like the winner interviews. I wish they had more. They only last a couple minutes and provide insight into the player and his thinking during the game. Although, I do think they could ask better questions. "How do you feel?" is not quite the insight I'm looking for.

You can't fault incontrol for wanting his teammate to win. That said, I don't think that it showed during the games. They if you haven't noticed, NASL is building up a brand. The casters, the players, the games; are all a part of that brand. Rarely will you hear a NASL caster say anything bad about a player or game. Decision made? Sure, but not something like Tastosis where they will say, "I have no idea how this guy is in Code S."

So then why is someone who can't be objective a caster? I basically turn off the sound/commentary whenever a Korean plays because of the anti-Korean bias that tool has. I get the impression it's less about him expressing what he wants and more about him trying to create a Bill O'Reilly/Simon Cowell "I can say whatever I want" image.

EDIT: Oh, and for those saying Tastosis are biased, yes they are biased against good/bad players. They aren't biased against nationality, which is what makes Incontrol's comments so petty. Also, his trash talk is like it's coming from a drunk frat guy rather than anything witty or meaningful.

actually Tastosis are biased against nationality, which is obvious given they're foreigners. but notably, it's Artosis who let's his inner bias show conspicuously in his commentary and hence affect the quality of his commentary.

oh well, what can i say: foreign commentators need to become more professional. can't have an esports industry with such lack of professionalism imo.

For any international event that I see on TV (Olympics, World Cup), the sports commentators and programming always show some bias for the home country.

In those instances it makes sense because it's countries competing against countries. For example, it's perfectly logical for the GSL World vs Korea battles to have biased commentary. But for those of you saying all commentators have bias, sure but I don't hear NBA or NFL sports commentators going "WELCOME TO THE EAST COAST BITCH! WEST COAST SUCKS WOOOOOO THEY MAD"

Depends what channel you're watching. If you watch or listen to any local affiliate, there's always a lot of bias. More than discuss bias or non-bias, I'd just rather have the casters be themselves. No matter what, that's what they're best at, not artificially stifling their emotions.

Day 3 much better. Somewhat better casting also.

Hey NASL - you know the music during GOMTV when it starts up- you need some intro music etc.

Other than that, it was much better tonight!

That's not really fair, considering that when they were hatin' on the guy he WAS a pretty bad player. He's just gotten a lot better, and they've been the first to proclaim it.

Was it San who had that absolute failure of a forge FE on scrap station where he manner pyloned his Nexus?

That was hilarious.

Indeed.

If there was a most improved player award in GSL, it would be him.

Lol here comes the BW fanboys, although DDE outplayed him the entire game until he made the mistake of letting nada get the gold.

What game where you watching? Nada failed with his army once, he was certinly not ouplayed and as someone stated before me, Nadas multitasking was extremly good when he turned the game around.

Lol Dde's macro was so far ahead the whole game. The only mistake dde made was letting nada take the middle of the map.

I think... DDE was more stable throughout the game. But NaDa played a smarter game, showing intelligence in his decisions, this made a HUGE difference. What the hell, there's like no player who'll make that crazy doom drop while in such a disadvantage. It was so so good.

Also, while DDE had more supply, it doesn't mean he had the better macro mechanics. He won a few sieges, but in general, NaDa had a positional advantage most of the game. Plus he took a successful risk by taking the gold to help his comeback. Great stuff.

Also, even when mining gold with tons of mules, NaDa was able to keep his minerals low, really low, and resupply really fast when losing units. His macro mechanics were top class on game 3.

He didn't even seem to be playing at half his potential though, he'd be damn scary if he played SC2 full time.

I do agree with NaDa making smart decisions but dde definitely lost that game more than NaDa won it. If he put turrets up in his main; no drop. If he just pushed when he had the advantege: gg. NaDa definitey played solid but I do think that if dde did 1-2 things different he would've won.

Idk, it seems like a lot of people are forgetting that DDE only really got ahead that last game when NaDa blundered into DDE's tank line and lost like 80% of his army. Without that, NaDa would have been ahead in units, equal bases, and macroing better than DDE...

I was wondering about that, because I didn't get any points for picking July last round, does that mean the Naniwa forfeit is basically null on liquibet?

I think the most surprising thing today was how poorly haypro played.

I mean he was just downright awful.

Hopefully he can bring us a little more quality next week.

GOMTV has cross-promotional deals with the parent company of Secret and IU, thus they have free access to the broadcast rights for a huge library of music. NASL doesn't have that luxury. Broadcast rights cost money and even more for reproduction, money that can be better spent reinvesting into the prize pool.
Thank God and gunrun.

I find bias annoying as a Korean American and someone who'd root for a foreigner or a Korean depending on who it was. But it's unavoidable to some extent. Artosis eventually admits when he's wrong (I remember MKP-TT1 being particularly bad) and it's not like they're not excited to cast Korean matches. Inc seemed fine to me too; give nada the respect he deserves, then you can root for whoever.

I do think casters should at last try to remain unbiased in their commentary though, and not just lol it off. It's not a national competition, and English speaking people rooting for Korean players should be able to enjoy the cast too. Root for whoever you want but don't let it affect the quality of casting (like praising foreigners for doing nothing special at all, make excuses for BM).
