That's not really fair, considering that when they were hatin' on the guy he WAS a pretty bad player. He's just gotten a lot better, and they've been the first to proclaim it.

Was it San who had that absolute failure of a forge FE on scrap station where he manner pyloned his Nexus?

That was him. He wasn't really that bad outside of that series though... just mediocre. Go watch him vs Inca on Delta Quadrant in GSL1. One of the best games of the whole tournament.

Wait, he did the nexus block on scrap station... woah... mind blown. How the hell you manner pylon yourself on scrap station...

I'm pretty sure it was on DQ. Blocked his nexus, had cannons all around the natural but only one guarding his ramp so roaches just crushed through.

So when is the naniwa match if he doesnt get the loss??

Seconded to get attention. Will Naniwa play his intended match with another opponent in the near future, or will there be some odd makeup games (since his opponent technically "won" while Naniwa didn't technically "lose") with Strelok?

Strelok got the win and 2 points, but Naniwa didn't lose any points for the loss (normally he'd be at -2 for a 2-0 loss).

Important to note he doesn't get fined either

Sure, but not something like Tastosis where they will say, "I have no idea how this guy is in Code S."

So then why is someone who can't be objective a caster? I basically turn off the sound/commentary whenever a Korean plays because of the anti-Korean bias that tool has. I get the impression it's less about him expressing what he wants and more about him trying to create a Bill O'Reilly/Simon Cowell "I can say whatever I want" image.

EDIT: Oh, and for those saying Tastosis are biased, yes they are biased against good/bad players. They aren't biased against nationality, which is what makes Incontrol's comments so petty. Also, his trash talk is like it's coming from a drunk frat guy rather than anything witty or meaningful.

Every time a foreigner plays the say they are rooting for them. Go back and watch the intros for the vods. Pretty much every time they admit as much.

actually Tastosis are biased against nationality, which is obvious given they're foreigners. but notably, it's Artosis who let's his inner bias show conspicuously in his commentary and hence affect the quality of his commentary.

oh well, what can i say: foreign commentators need to become more professional. can't have an esports industry with such lack of professionalism imo.

For any international event that I see on TV (Olympics, World Cup), the sports commentators and programming always show some bias for the home country.

Lol can you imagine the criticism if they started doing that? They got a bunch of angry posts for yelling GEE GEE which is pretty much the fundamental backbone of StarCraft casting!

Oh I've seen the series, it's just that my brain has difficulty associating the performances with one another. Which is part of what made the FE fail so good.

Which match was it? i cant find it

GSL2 Ro32 vs Check was the failed FE.

Are the NASL guys going to edit out the spoiler for the Europe encore? If not I think the warning should at least stay up in this thread for those guys.

Chinese belong under the "foreigner" section too ^^. Just saying.

"too biased" What the hell? This isn't the evening news. This isn't a scientific journal. This is a video game. God.

Part of what makes it interesting is different people do, in fact, go for different teams and sides. Why the hell shouldn't the commentators be cheering for someone too? It doesn't alter the game in any way, it doesn't change the outcome.

The fact that Korea is, in general, dominate is an essential part of sc commentary. It makes for a grand underdog story.

I'm just trying to imagine someone watching sc2 and yelling at their monitor "so much bias!". Cracks me up. Or, in a similar situation, a local sports team winning the grand final and the local paper running a story celebrating their win only to be inundated with angry letters from local population decrying the biased coverage.

Every single sports broadcaster has some kind of bias. Welcome to real life, where people have natural tendencies to favor one thing over another :D

That isn't completely true. Broadcasters, like the ones you see on ESPN, are suppose to be unbiased. The guy getting fired for clapping at the end of the Nascar race comes to mind.I know he was a reporter in the press box, not a broadcaster, but it still applies.

There are plenty of things you could say that NASL has left to work on. In fact, I will list somethings where I feel like they could improve.

1. Gretorp + Incontrol need more time casting together. They also need to pick roles, imo. One as play-by-play and the other as color/analysis. I can understand with MLG neither had all kinds of time to cast a bunch of games to practice working together and I think that the relationship will develop over time.
2. I'd prefer they drop player interviews. That or put more time into them. KawaiiRice's interview sticks out in my head. What a waste of three minutes. Maybe put them on the NASL website as additional content people can opt into? They just seem to break up the flow of the show and add unnecessary length.

That having been said, caster bias has not, to my mind, been an issue.

In those instances it makes sense because it's countries competing against countries. For example, it's perfectly logical for the GSL World vs Korea battles to have biased commentary. But for those of you saying all commentators have bias, sure but I don't hear NBA or NFL sports commentators going "WELCOME TO THE EAST COAST BITCH! WEST COAST SUCKS WOOOOOO THEY MAD"
