If a pro-athlete did what idra did just did in that series then their coach would have chewed him the fuck out and probably benched him from playing. And as a spectator - it is simply pathetic to watch - and not entertaining at all. You can't let frustration get the best of you - as a competitor you have to to play your best and try until the very end.

Idra played really sick in game 1, but it seems to me that the biggest mistake was that he just let MC re-max. Idra went for a fast 3rd and held of the harass and came out quite ahead. I was worried for MC the whole mid-game because I thought if Idra followed up his attack after taking out a huge chunk of MC's army, he would win straight up. What's the use of playing so well at the start if you don't go kill your opponent when you have the chance? It's like playing football - doing 100 great passes but not bothering to shoot, then your opponent counters when you lose your concentration and scores from that.

Those of you saying Idra gives up easily, didn't you see game 1? Whatever the merits or mistakes of either player, Idra came back from a great many unfortunate situations that would have been the end of a lesser zerg. A 6 pool is a coin-flip, had MC not scouted at that time, Idra would have won.

It's really not a coinflip on Xel'naga. It's more like russian roulette with 5 rounds chambered.

I don't really get why some ppl even dare throw imbalanced as reason for Idra's lost here. I think idra's mindset lately is so bad for him, he is literally "I will make ball throw it at him, and if I loose - game is broken"- he didnt drop, bite here or there, and he knows it, AHHH he pissing me off. I fully agree with Tyler and Incontrol. Don't let idra be a martyr.

The worst part about the first match was that the so called "comeback" wasn't even interesting. Take Boxer's comebacks, where you get all teary eyed watching him seeing to first glimpse of hope when his main is in shreds, and then with insane micro and wit inches back into the game with moves you wouldn't be able to imagine (the Goliath island drops vs Joyo's Carrier anyone?).

Watching this game however, I could do nothing but yawn, and at the end blinking all your stalkers to kill the lords and psi-storming hydras even I could pull off. Funnily enough the commentators thought Broodlords was Idra's saviors, but I don't think I have seen one match where Broodlords do anything but kill the Zerg vs blink Stalkers. I don't understand why Idra never GG'd when MC got up his third.

I don't care about balance, just give me 3 races that are interesting to spectate, not just 2, since the risk of one player being P is too high.

Maybe because you were rooting for Idra so hard, that makes MC winning slightly less exciting.

Only the protoss are arguing against it, he isn't a martyr, he literally can not win. Like I said before, MC said he will never lose to a zerg, unless they nerf. When the best protoss player literally says I like the nerfs because I want to win fairly, you have to believe it.

if you cant see how idra could have won game 1, you are lost

All I can see is the same situation happening over and over again in PVZ ( zergs losing from a 80 supply lead), and it doesn't matter if its mc or cruncher or jackdoane the surfist.

MC had 5 Stalkers 2 Colossi and a few Zealots / Sentries, Idra could just have attacked there and then, he had a huge window. He also could have waited until he saw MC warp in some units and then ran in a bunch of lings to the third while the gates were on a cooldown and so on. Numerous ways to win.

MC wasn't worse than Idra, he just delayed Idra's harass so he could get his upgrades up ... and it worked, for the small price of a VR. And then played perfectly the entire game, not lost even 1 base.

Then again, I feel sorry for Idra, he's got so much potential when it comes to his macro and unit composition and making these small mistakes when it comes to positioning/micro and the problem is they're never small against good players. And the mindset ...

Like someone else said, Idra's worst enemy is himself.

which is why it's great that tyler takes the time to answer in LR threads. He's pretty much just saying what's on everybody's mind that aren't unreasonably biased towards idra/zerg. Thanks tyler^^

Hoping that sjow wins vs whitera, even though I'm a huge whitera fan but we've seen him vs. mc twice in a short time period now and would really like to see where sjow stands in regards to MC.

Did you ever stop to think that maybe the protosses are just as equally biased?

What i don't understand is that when, for instance, Huk is interviewed about PvZ balance he always says

"Well, i don't think it's imbalanced, but i do think Zerg is much harder to play and it's harder for zerg to win"

Uhm...so basically you are saying it's imbalanced.

Terran in SCBW was by far the hardest race to play, but some of the best players are terran and they get quite a few wins, to say the least.
Just cause it's harder doesn't mean it's worse, it just means that the skill cap is higher.
