Players such as Jinro, HuK, and Adelscott did not apply for this tour, so don't ask why they aren't on this list. DIMAGA, Kas, and LaLush turned applications in late so they will not appear either. Please take some time to learn who exactly applied. Please inform yourself about who applied and who didn't. |

why are you even using this stupid fucking invite system? it will never cause anything but annoyance and disagreement. invite some of the players and then run an online qualifier like the tsl did and you ameliorate the possibility of having all these problems. Jesus Christ so much fucking whining. They took the players that they think will make the best league. All choices are gonna be arguable; tester hasnt done anything worth noting since like gsl 1, and supernova hasn't proven anything either. Just having one invitational tournament would be worse, any player can have a good or a bad day; and there's no time to run a whole league to qualify for the league while they set up the actual league. If any players want to get in later they can come to the qualifiers. Until then please stop whining. the reason that they weren't invited clearly has nothing to do with what they've "proven", because both those players in addition to a bunch of other notable koreans have certainly proven more than most of the invited players. supernova just won that fxo thing in addition to crushing everyone in code a, what more do you want from him exactly? if you want to make the argument that tester and supernova and top and inca not receiving invites was correct, please don't bring up what they've "proven", it just makes you look silly - the players you're comparing them to that were invited have significantly less results. i understand that they took the players that they think will make the best league, my fear is that they based that more on the player's personality, nationality, race, and sponsorship more than they based it on how they play the game. Yeah, winning the FXO was really impressive on Supernova's part. It is unfortunate that the scientists at NASL have not perfected a method of time travel though, cause that happened on Saturday, which is way after they finished deciding who to invite. Can't really hold that against them, can you?
yes you're right, that individual tournament was too late for them to take into consideration (another flaw with the invite system). however, code a wasn't:
http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/2011_2nd_Generation_Intel®_Core™_Global_StarCraft_II_League_March/Code_A
we can argue about the results of individual tournaments if you want, but the fact is that if they were really committed to getting the best 50 sc2 players for their tournament they could have done a better job, and i'm really disappointed that they did not. i know it comes off as whiny or whatever but to be honest i'm usually very supportive of any community event and i really enjoy watching starcraft; i'm usually not negative about these types of things. i just really happen to disagree with the way this was all done and i really think it will not go well for this league which i really wanted to see succeed.

Wow it sucks that DIMAGA isn't in the league. Hopefully he'll place well in the open and get in for Season 2 at least.

I'm confused....If so many people hate the people NASL picked then why don't the hater(s) start up their own league. I mean If I hated this league so much I would just start my own star league and invite all the best players. But I don't hate it. I love it.

But yeah I am quite sure he was talking about soccer. Simply assuming that because he is from NA and you guys are sadly quite clueless about that sport. Okay. You are right there. Personally though I have no problem with professional athletes using steroids under a Dr/trainer's supervision. Obviously the officiating is not perfect, but you can't say with a straight face it's worse than the NBA/ any of the world soccer leagues. Ever watched a Lakers game before? If you have then you know what I'm talking about. The NFL is arguably the most competitive sports league in the world, so there must be some consistency with the officiating. Granted the use of TV for officiating in NFL is something that puts it ahead of european football in that regard. But it is also much better applicable in a sport with constant breaks. You could never do the same in "soccer" or basketball.
Ok I just realized how ridculously off topic we are. I will stop it here.

The best whine post in this thread. Read it, I don't even agree with everything in it but alot of good points...
For example; Why does GomTV not have even a promille of the whine that the NASL has? For one, there is abit to much confusion as to who is handeling the deals etc. whereas at GomTV I don't know who pulls the strings but atleast the overall feel is that it is "GomTV". Incontrol is seen arguing to much and acting as the sole representation of this tournament and even though I love your outspokeness Incontroll: This will get you shitloads of flack regardless.

Remember when people were upset about Cruncher getting in? That was funny. BOOM! Cruncher fighting!!!

Artosis is my hero he will rock the nasl

Looks like a kick ass tournament. They got a lot of great players, but the hard part will be to make the production live up to the hype. I really only watch GSL now, I've paid for every season and enjoy the quality of games as well as production. There's nothing else in English that can match it yet.
I'd be fine with paying for another subscription to watch another great Starcraft 2 tournament. Only if the production is at least as good as GSL, and, or cheaper. I think it's proven that there is money to be made in producing a Starcraft 2 show. Now they just need to pitch it to the right people and get the ball rolling.
I think if NASL has a lackluster production value it may actually hurt the chances of seeing anything else like it, or seeing it grow. So I think that's why a lot of people are being very critical, because it's OUR show now, not Korea. We want it to very very well, so we have to be harsh.

Gom got it's fair shar of whine in the early stages too, especially regarding the proposed cost of a season in the beggining ($50) iirc, the quality/consistancy of the stream in season 1 being the biggest areas i believe. MLG got alotta shit talked on it last year too, a reasonanle amount from iNcontroL himself. This is the internet where even if you are voiceing a valid complaint you gotta spice it up or be lost amongst the trolls. (I'm sure at least half the people in here raging are %100 trolling because they know iNcontroL is as bad as the people he complains about and will overreact to the smallest things).

I'm very disappointed that you guys set up the voting thing knowing that it wouldn't even be considered when selecting players. Very deceptive.
Also Minigun >>> InControl any day of the week, both in skill and class.

When they rolled out the voting, they said that it was just a way to get the fans involved. You shouldn't have expected a huge effect.
That said, they did base a bunch of decisions on fan popularity. MoMan especially benefited from all the votes that he got.

OMG no Dimaga is so SAD, i understand the decission tho. Lets get it started this is gonna be epic.
|
This is gonna be awesome, they intended to choose the groups in a way so that rivals are in the same group. They just missed the opportunity to put cloud with goody in the same group.
Should be no secret that cloud is frustrated trying to beat goody.

I knew the voting thing was bullshit from the start. It might have helped a little for certain people but NASL has a committee to decide who gets in or not for the first one. I didn't feel deceived by them doing that poll thing. Yeah bummer mini didn't get invited. Incontrol has his chance now and surely mini will qualify for season 2 though season 3 is the one that matters the most imo. Let's see how it plays out.

Great set of players. Its quite funny seeing all the clantags and then just 'Artosis' in the middle hehe. Definitely going to be very interested to see how he does.

So to sum things up for the final time ;
Demuslim did not get invited because he was wearing a cast in his video. A cast which first of all isnt even a cast, its more of a support/protection "Cast" something he put off whenever we want :D, we decided to make that video in front of the hospital to add some character instead of a dark room..instead of anyone contacting Demuslim about it he just gets declined by drawing conclusions without getting _anything_ confirmed.
Nightend didn't get picked because he didnt include a Paper which they didnt ask for. He should have just magicly smelled it because he's from Romania and apparently there is a chance he wouldn't be able to go to the usa. They tell him afterwards. This is like Declining Ret because he didnt give a doctor's subscription which shows he ain't drug addict since netherlands has a lot of them. And no one told Ret in advance he had too. that seems a little weird. :D
Don't understand how a few people can write they handled it very professional, the post from Xeris was quite reasonable indeed and explained a few things nice, but these are still 2 _MASSIVE_ failures imo, which didn't have to happen at all, a small notice to nightend before the 50 players are actually announced and everything would have been fine., contacting Demuslim if he's actually able to play in 3 weeks and its already a lot more reasonable, then its still up to NASL to pick him or not, but not contacting demuslim at all and then draw conclusions out of a video without knowing the who's or not. I'm a little dissapointed, i can certainly understand nightends sadness since I indeed remember him getting declined by blizzard for season 7 just because he's Romanian, now he gets screwed again because he's Romanian and apparently has to do something that no one else has to or no one knew about, thats just wrong.

i for one do not have any criticism so far, i dont know how many people they have working on this, i think its a shame about demuslim, and at the same time i dont know what the situation is for the crew that is working on this, if they have a deadline and a guy sends in his video application wearing a cast its probably not such a bad choice what they did... even though i bet demuslim is an honest guy i dont know if they could take his word for it! although you can argue they should have given the guy a chance atleast

Maybe the next time they should have 50 online tournaments to decide which 50 players get in the league. Then we should have all the best players gathered up sometime next year!!!
Some of you act like this is high school and you didn't get invited to the after Prom party. Life isn't fair, the world is a cruel place, and good luck in the NASL open.
