What is your opinion of a "hive tech equivalent for toss?" Colossus take a ton to tech to, Robo facility + Robo Bay + Range to start making colossus and make them effective, I'm sure morrow could easily have gotten a hive and infestation pit, or Drops or anything else other than trying to ram 50 roaches at a time into a wall of stalker/sentry/immortal/collosus with better upgrades.



Not even worth arguing this stupid tech "debate", there are so many factors other than tech and the tech of the races isnt equivalent, so noobs need to shut up about tech already....

The zerg tech tree is a total mess to transition.

But he should have switched to hydra after he killed the colossus.

Collosi is the higest tech unit a protoss can have (besides a mothership) so I'd consider that pretty even.

The closest Protoss equivalent to Hive Tech would have to be multiple tech paths, since Protoss can't actually go as deeply into a single tech line as Zerg can.

A Colossus/Void Ray composition with Air and Ground attack upgrades requires almost the entire Protoss tech tree (Twilight Council for ground upgrades, Fleet Beacon for air upgrades, Support Bay for Colossus) so the dreaded Colossus/Void Ray is certainly a Protoss 'Hive Tech' composition.

It wasn't an allin, I think you're confusing the constant pressure on a zerg against a decent protoss with Morrow not being able to transition. Morrow was playing as standard as possible but never got the opportunity to tech or secure an advantage, not even coming out even in the engagements that he executed as perfectly as possible. MC just played a solid PvZ with no major mistakes and Morrow didn't have an answer.

All the people talking about infestors need to realise how hard covering that timing window is where you're investing in an infestation pit, pathogen glands and infestors for 0 return. Morrow needed one engagement where he came out ahead so that MC wouldn't have the capacity to push but that never happened, hence the gas pileup of Morrow and "easy" win for MC.

All I see in the production tab is drones drones drones, mc could've killed morrow with 6 sentries+1 zealot.

He did use hydras and MC did have colossus.


MC didn't have collosus for a while, and his hydra count was quite low (I saw 7 in the production tab) and it was pure stalker immortal. The collo count was low the whole game.

he threw the game away by doing this.
he had multiple leads, but sticking to the same unit composition killed him.
because mc had as much as a hard counter as you can get, 2 robo immortals and blink stalker.

It really isn't if zerg transitions with his unit comp, instead of getting a hydra den and spending 150/150 on hydra range when he made very few hydras he could have gotten an infestation pit, he was floating a ton of gas towards the end of the game, infesters solve that problem while giving you an awesome unit vs what MC was using, it also transitions nicely into allowing a Hive transition, Morrow just got stuck on the roach path and failed to make the call when to transition.

The chances of a zerg beating a Protoss, especially MC, are slim. Might as well use the style your most comfortable with / have trained with the most.

Indeed, he wasn´t going roach/hydra, he was going mass roaches and in the end had 3 entire hydra´s mixed in. He probably has his reasons though,

Maybe. Then they need to gamble. Because one thing is pretty damn obvious: "standard" Zerg play is absolutely terrible and loses every time to a good player like MC.
