This thread is for commenting on the games. Not for balance discussions and not for commentator bashing. |
I don't usually comment on these kinds of threads, but all complaining about imbalance aside:
The usual gauge of a players skill (or at least one of the indicators) is how few mistakes they make. Sure Haypro played great for how long he managed to hold, but you have to admit in terms of mistakes, Ganzi just made less. Period.
I would trade unlimited marines/medivacs for denying Zerg their 4th + expos especially when its those positions. Even if you try a drop and it gets denied/intercepted, it makes Z mutas chase them instead of harassing T, letting T keep macroing and being the aggressor. You can't constantly defend in a TvZ and expect to win unless you really crush the army once and then use high tech units like Broodlords/Ultras to push and actually do really heavy damage, at that stage of the game marines are way too cost effective and Haypro didn't get to use Hive tech until it was way too late.
In summary, Haypro played fine but was reacting to everything Ganzi did, which put him behind just in pretty much everything, Ganzi was pretty much dictating the pace of the game, which is never a good thing to play against.

ofc Mvp is better then July. That's not even arguable.

Oh man, she has a lot of hair.

Ganzi was frikkin superb. I can only dream of being able to multitask like that. great play. If i was a betting man i would put money on him taking code A .
|
yeah john is in gold league but in kr server which is equivalent plat-low diamond if compared to other servers.
|
Haypro has improved so much since the last GSL. HayprO v Ganzi was way better than normal Code A matches. Ganzi, as rumored about him, is pretty freaking good. No shame in losing to a player like that in such an incredible series. Best of luck in the future, HayprO. You are doing great but it sucks to see your GSL run cut so short.

Tasteless with the random stuff.

You watched both of those matches? Or are you just trolling? I can never tell.

Why are people complaining about balance.. all the games terran vs zerg have been amazingly close, and just as much if not more in zergs favor alot of the time. Now we havent really seen much protoss, but from what i've seen so far, and heard, they are rediculous on these new maps. But I honestly think terran and zerg are just about as balanced as you can get, it provides some amazing games. If blizzard does tone down the marines, theyll need to do things to the other races or it will completely throw the balance of the game out of the window. That would be like making the zerglings worst.. everyone would just rush Zerg because they would be so easy to beat.. even on the new maps

If the expo's didnt keep getting rine spammed haypro would have had game 2.
Bad luck haypro mate. You definitely played at your best. Its unfortunate you got paired against ganzi. Yeah and if my expansions never got attacked I'd probably be in the GSL as well
Thanks for the troll.... Re-read what I said. It makes sense.. Its hard to defend a 16 rines and 2 medi without using a good chunk of your army, if you are being raped front on, you are guarenteed to lose your expo. Hence my statement about mobility.
If it wasn't a himalayan trek to get to his expo, he wouldn't have had them spammed so much. Ganzi is an awesome player, and he deserved to win 100%, but he exploited mobility inefficiencies in order to take hold of the game. Of course this is the game and its how its played. But what can you do vs it, unless you hide a few bane bombs at each expo and hope for an all kill whilst you slam the front.
Haypro did have a chance to win it at one stage, and he did play awesomely better than I have ever seen him play. Its unfortunate that he got paired up against someone like Ganzi.

Decent match. Haypro played a little worse in the second game, missing a few cancelled hatches hurt him a little. Generally I thought the series was even, but Ganzi is able to dominate in mid late game on even bases. That simple really.
Unsure about these larger maps being the "solution". Sure they remove the 1-2 base guess work. Bunker / SCV rushes, 2 port Banshee, cliff drops etc. But when you get down to it, Terran still has a lot of power in a large map, 3+ base situation. We just haven't seen it because the other stuff is easier.
Ganzi showcasing a macro based, mobile style that is very hard to shutdown. Lots of PFs and turrets. Lots of drops. Good micro of large core army. Zerg is unable to engage / destroy the main army whilst stopping drops and preventing those PFs from getting up. Zerg is just too cost inefficient, and terran is too mobile.

I think Haypro had a pretty sizable advantage after he took out the 8 marines in the middle of the map. I wonder why he didn't get try to get a 4th base up then, when he had map control?
Hayder played well, but I feel that Idra or Nestea would have won if they played the game starting from the point where the 8 marines were cleared out. He was gambling a bit too much in hoping that GanZi wouldn't try to stop the expansions. Moving an overlord to drop creep and building a spine crawler while the expansion is going up would have helped a lot.

I can picture Ganzi just giggling to himself as he sent those suicide drops to distract Haypro, and then went in and killed off the zerg's 4th base for the 15th time.
