Maybe after upgrading the servers for stream, they can upgrade the booths to have more noise cancelling sound protection.
Also, can someone explain what happened to the GomTV live streams/website last night? Was it ddos attack? Or just plain server overload? Was so frustrating trying to get into the live stream.
There's nothing that can be done, really. This problem has happened at OSL and MSL and Proleague and so on. You can't fully soundproof those booths from everything I can tell. Jinro isn't even the only one to talk about this, I believe I've seen it in a Fantasy interview and several other interviews too. It is a big problem, though, so I wish they would take it more seriously and find a solution.
It is called "ear hacking" and if you are curious for a search term.

Or does he go to the up/down bracket and play again?
Idra is out of this tournament, but his Code S status for next season was secured as soon as he made R16.
The only people in the Up/Down bracket are the people who went out in the first round, everyone else guarantees their place in Code S for the next season by progressing ^^

I definatly think Jinro could beat him aswell in a macro oriented game, pressuring him early is really difficult as Nestea seems to have mastered fending off any early pressure from anyone. But Jinro has the game sense and macro, he is also smart and rarely takes big risks.
MKP has to have improved alot to pose a challange to Nestea, i hope he learned a few new tricks and can take revenge on him, if he isent improved alot then i just see Nestea running him over like in the finals.
What an understatement. NesTea just will not die lol. Onezerglingholdingoff5gatestargatewut?
i think nestea is really good at holding off early aggresion and reading the opponent but this game on scrap station was 100times more choya's loss than it was nestea's win..
i mean: losing 1 voidray and 1 phoenix to 2 queens (without transfussion) just because you're too dumb to shot once with a freaking stalker on this queen with 5 hp.... >_> i was literally just laughing as he lost the voidray.. so bad :D
anyways.. was a funny round today.. i feel a bit sorry for idra tho :/
now jinro has to win the whole thing or we will all be disappointed ^^

Making a booth for commentators would be one.
How would that stop the players from hearing the commentators coming over the speakers? You would have to completely section off the fans and the players for that to work.
Just wanted to say Jinro im glad you made it trough. You were one of my favourite europe sc1 player, and i followed you a lot. great to see a scandinavian boy can be one of the top players in sc2 also, and not only cs etc.
anyways, wish hell of luck in ro4, and i really really hope you make it to the finals

Speaking of the weather in the GomTV studio, when will we see a progamer who thinks to bring fingerless gloves to the GSL? Seems like it'd be more effective than a handwarmer you can only use between games. o_O
On topic: I love how the commentators geek out when a game looks like it might end in a draw. It's the full lunar eclipse of gaming ... it doesn't actually do anything, but everyone is really excited when it happens just because it's so rare.
I'm so proud of idra. I never thought I'd watch him 6-pool - it gives me shivers, and jinro only held on by the hair on his gorilla chin. (SERIOUSLY, 5 HP marine that was only still alive because he accidentally cancelled it and thus screwed up the timing on it popping out! WAT.)
I'm really amused how the ear-hacking ended up not helping at all, too (Scout -> didnt see inc lings just the drone, i guess he missed the 1 ling that it did pass by) and how his blunder (which could have costed the game) ended up saving him.
Yay for Jinro in the semis. Boo for code A semis being 4xT and code S being 3xT and 1xZ, I wonder if nestea would be out too if he hadn't dodged terran in RO16 and RO8

I tried playing with fingerless gloves a couple times, the part that covers your palm still gets in the way, especially on your mouse. Also, it just makes you feel slow and with material between your fingers, there is added resistance that throws off your key strokes. You should try to type with them on, it's not a very good solution.
Now, if they wanted to bring in small ceramic heaters, that would be great. It would also add some extra noise in the booth, which might prevent some ear hacking.

This is something i'm pretty curious about and if it was a manner mule i'm curious why it is warranted against somebody in the same boat as you, except he doesn't have all the awesome practice partners to work with and has to struggle more to do well?
If nothing is said about it we pretty much have to assume it wasn't an accident since that would be a pretty weird misclick (based on the keys I assume he uses different fingers for each).
I know Jinro already commented on the whole MULE/scan thing, but, I just wanted to say that it's actually a lot easier to accidentally use the opposite one that you want a lot of the time haha. You have such muscle memory for both E and C on your CC that sometimes youi'll just be like "omg need to scan" and your fingers automatically go to E, or vice versa. I know I've accidentally scanned my mineral line quite a few times because my fingers get the two mixed up because they're so used to pressing both. :p
Regarding the quick 'gg' in game 2: I understand the argument in conserving mental energy, but the opponent is expending mental energy too. I feel like it would be a much better psychological play in that position to mentally give up and make a lazy attempt at some silly 1% chance of winning strategy, like 1-base muta or something, while you collect yourself for the next game. Your opponent won't know you've given, and will likely continue to play just as hard as he normally would. Heck, it ight even be good to run out for a bathroom break or something, since Jinro probably wouldn't be pushing for a while. That way you end up ahead in the "mental resources" department. Jinro was obviously energized and enthused by his quick victory, and maybe would not have played as well after being rope-a-doped a little bit.
