You should expand behind an attack, which I believe is what Day[9] says as well.

Could swear Day9 suggests to expand behind an attack, because the pressure is forcing your opponent to be thinking about defending his own base while you are able to get yours up safely (as opposed to attacking after you expand)

Artosis is saying that once you've got a new expansion up don't push out immediately because you're currently sitting at a resource deficit till it gets up and running and you've been able to make use of it to macro up more units (as opposed to having cut unit production while you are spending minerals on CC / gas etc).

It's two diffferent concepts that aren't mutually exclusive

You listen to Artosis, because I'm not sure when Day said attacking after expanding is good but that's wrong in most situations. When you expand you're actually in a deficit.


I thought Day9 said that you should expand when you attack, so that when you fall back, you have an expand that is ready to kick in.

You expand behind an attack because that is the moment you are 100% certain your opponent cannot attack you, i.e. your expansion is safe..

Did anyone notice tops' dropship maras? All of them were colored beautifully as he loaded up to leave Ace's natural, from highest to lowest.

Yeah this is what both of them said, and they are right.

IMO Ace didn't deserve to be knocked out so early, I think he's pretty good, at least top16 Code A material.

Yeah, pretty sure Day9 is talking about attacking as a way to agressively defend your new expansion, which is smart. Artosis is talking about going all-in before your new expansion has even begun to pay back the investment, which is stupid.

Day9: what day9 means is, you force your opponent on the defensive (attacker's advantage to even out your slightly weaker army), then you pull back and have the expansion established - as opposed to when you just sit there and let your opponent to develop a gameplan.

To the actual match: TOP hit a very good timing there, not mucht Ace could do about it.

The game will never be perfectly balanced.. but you pretty much said wow T>P .. which is bullshit. If the game goes on that long and P techs properly, it is gg for Terran. He got Collossus late and then got stuck on them even after seeing mass viking.. If Ace won the song would be different..
