As far as the whole tournament goes, I still think Foxer is the most skilled player overall. What people maybe don't realize is if you have such Amazing micro than it is actually advantageous to use units like marines because they are so cost effective. There really isn't anyone else in the world that can pull off such micro with marines, therefore no one uses Foxer's builds and he seems like a "one trick pony." The spread in the end of game 1 vs leenock was just hilarious ;]
My predictions: Nestea is in the final again, other finalist would be winner of Foxer/MC. Rooting for Jinro tho ofc ;]
You have sound logic, but you're incorrect that no one else is using Foxer's build. He got the build from mvp, who used it in his first round of 32 match, as well as (to a lesser degree) Jinro. Mass marines with either tanks or marauders as baneling shields are slowly becoming the TvZ standard.
No. Foxer/MK did this kind of mass marine build on ladder ever since he entered sc2 in September. He constantly killed his opponents on ladder with this build and he became the No1 later. So it is more correct to say that Mvp and others copy Foxer/MK's build.
Also, Foxer/MK's micro is way better than Mvp, which makes him a much stronger palyer. I won't be surprised if he wins this GSL.

lol GWBush is so retarded!
shame on you USA for having that guy has a president!
very happy for Jinro! he's playing so good! i think he might win this!

Though the discussion could kind of go on ad nauseum, I think MK mentioned in an interview about MVP helping him (I could be mistaken). Either way, MK has been significantly more impressive than MVP has been at it (who really only showed it against Zenio - it wasn't that great against IdrA).

Congrats to Jinro! I must admit I wasn't a fan of him before as all games I used to see of him (like those of MLG) where some kind of timing attack wins. I'm really liking his confidence and more patient style now though, he does small little jabs here and there but basically just macro's it up and wins in the lategame. Game 2 vs polt was great in this regard.
I think he will get a tough time against choya though, people might not like choya's games from today but in fact he simply had the most dominating wins playing quite well actually.

Too bad for MVP! Thanks godness Jinro and MarineKingPrime going into Ro8 !
|
MVP is overrated until he proves he deserves the title "of best korean player" he might be the best in ladder but not in a BO3 in GSL.. he was lucky vs IdrA and i bet against him this round and won hihi I have nothing against the guy i just don't think he is the best korean like tastosis said everyone thinks he might be.. but what do i know???
sad for July tho

Jinro, I am filled with national pride and awe. You can go all the way man! JINRO FIGHTING!!!!

You should try to micro like him while keeping your macro on top and your minerals under 200, then you'll understand how hard it is. He outmacroed nada for god's sake, when will people realize that he's just GOOD ? Tired of hearing the same shit each time he play..."he's a one trick pony", "he's bad"...yeah, right, the best micro in the world is BAAAAAD, but I guess zerg players can't understand what micro is, because they want mAcRo GaMeS and if the T player is not playing tHe mAcRo g4m3 by letting the Z takes 5 bases in a NR15 match the T player will be bad anyway ><
I'm totally agree with you.
The true greatness of Foxer/MK is that he can micro insanely and macro insanely simultaneously! Imagine that! That is extremely hard for a Terran.
I know many people like high-tech battle, i.e., a lot bc's, tanks , ultras, broodlords, motherships, firing at each others. And they don't like low-tech battles and consider it boring. However, I really think that it's even more boring to watch both players macro macro macro for 30 minutes at home without being interrupted and make make make a billion fancy unites and fight one (and only one) big messy battle.

LOL @ Artosis SO excited. He's just drowning out Tasteless. Was too tired, now it's morning and iIm watching the games. So proud of Jinro He's making me kick my schoolwork OUT the window. Agree. The one against Zenio (and Mvp lost!) is the only impressive game Mvp played so far. He is overrated. MK is is underrated. He is more consistent than any other Terran.

So happy about Jinro ~<3 NesTea and Fruitdealer will not fight in the finals because they are at the same bracket i.e they will at most fight at the semis. And yeah Go jinro Ahhh...a little misunderstanding from my part. Well, this match will be awesome, I think everyone is dieing to see NesTea vs Fruitdealer, probably as much as Jinro vs MarineKing. Anyway, cheering for your foreign hero next round. Choya doesn't look like someone you can mess around with. Marineking is still too much of a "one trick pony" in my opinion, even though it's a very good "trick" and has him placing the top 8 again. Now he's going to start running into players that won't make the same mistakes Leenock did. I mean to win it all. In a 7 game series you just can't keep doing the samething, as Nestea demonstrated. No way! He can beat the top Zerg's by cheesing(2 rax push,) or even a macro game where he has the incredibly sick bio split. gogo foxer and MC!!!! Leenock demonstrated the problem with those bio splits pretty well, too bad he didn't take advantage in the third game. Those marine splits leave MK wide open for zergling surrounds since his marines are in groups of 2-4. If he clumps his marines together the banelings do their job, and if he splits the zerglings make quick work of the marines. A lot of zerg players just go mass baneling against MK mass marine and don't get enough zerglings, but if you change that ratio to have a lot more zerglings with speed and only the necessary amount of banelings, those splits are nowhere near as effective. Getting mutalisks to supplement your army with harassment and picking off medivacs or stray marines is also a great move. You don't need to get infestors, mutalisk/baneling/speedling works great, it's just the amount of each unit that zerg players keep getting wrong. They just expect 30 banelings to automatically win against a bunch of marines.
MK was sick (cold & headache) today. He said he didn't micro well due to hte headache.

Great play from Jinro and MK, also nice to see some protoss win.
We have a very nice and balanced Ro8 with no mirrors but given the players involved I would bet on a 2 Z 2 T semis, sadly set up as ZvZ and TvT with another ZvT final ... who knows though, we could see a protoss break through, maybe FD will go down.
|
You know what's actually pretty crazy....25% of the original Protoss players from the Ro64 are still in the Ro8...can't believe brotoss survived after Ro32 - 6 down to 4 down to 3 lol.

Even if he does, I don't think HongUn can defeat NesTea.
That being said HongUn is a lot better than I thought, gl to him.

Wow i am so happy for Jinro. Now that he has Code-S, he can go for first place without too much pressure. After today it seems possible.
I am just sad that i couldn't watch it live But luckily there will be a next time.
