Hydras are actually terrible against pheonix, they cant catch them, and unless you have 10+, the phoenix army can crush them. Mutas are much better, it just requires giving up map control and sitting on your base above a few spores until you have a large enough number to smash the protoss.

Did anyone else hear IU saying "TSL Clide" before the stream went down?

GuineaPig is so cute, how can you not like this guy?
And lol at the IU in the background randomly saying Clide's name...

Phoenixes ARE nightmares against zerg... if you make them reach a certain critical mass, they just get plain annoying if you dont have a lot of AA up ahead of time.

Very smooth interview. Since tester and sangho aren't around, I'll root for him and iron

IU?

I am a fan of this guy. Looks a good guy.
Also, I have been feeling that IM is indeed one of the best teams in Korea along with TSL. I also think foU is a bit underrated, they may in fact be better than oGs and Prime at the moment.
I was a bit surprised that he rates Clide so high though.

The IU said NesTea and Clide.

I've been trying this concept for ages, but never had the mechanics to pull it off. Its not completely original, but what the TSL team definitely has a concrete execution of this concept. The key of the build are the phoenixes. There are 2 responses to the build, hydras and mutas. Because of +1 air weapons hydras are actually the weaker response initially. They're also slow off creep, so its difficult for the zerg to get a 3rd base with all the air. The stronger response is mutas. The issue becomes you have to make voidrays to stay threatening. So your phoenixes will be outnumbered for a considerable amount of time. You need incredible micro to fight off all the mutas with your phoenixes. It's something I've never been able to pull off.

You need corruptors, you cant take out phoenixes with just mutas. Have you even tried this? It´s not just hard, it´s impossible.

Did we really just see a protoss win a GSL match with ZERO stalkers?
Most protoss don't know what to do without stalker/collosi.

Do you ever feel like going back to those old threads created back when 1.1.2 was just released and just bein a real jerk to everyone who completely overreacted to the void ray changes? lol for example: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=160785 + Show Spoiler +not trying to be an egotistical prick by quoting myself but this is what i said in that thread. On October 15 2010 07:16 billyX333 wrote: I think the void ray change is great. They had their lvl 1 dmg really buffed so they arent ridiculously bad and easily out maneuvered anymore. How do you beat slow void rays? you engage when they are uncharged thats how or just run away. Now voids wont be so worthless uncharged and won't be stupid imba when charged.

WHAT A BALLER.
A thousand times this. His manner, along with this original playing style has skyrocketed him to the highest tier of my favorite players. I really hope he makes it far, too bad he might have to tk/get tk'd in RO32.

Baller interview, so composed, so baller lol.

Its really not that hard to beat, if you go mass muta it forces them into tons of pheonix which aren't that scary. If you expand enough and put a few spores at each base you can reach your 30 muta army somewhat quickly and take it too them hardcore style. Seems like Artosis doesn't get to see a lot of creative builds playing in Korea. On the NA server protoss has been messing with build like that for months. Props to guinea pig for throwing it out against someone who was clueless against it. Kinda reminds me of the first time I played a guy in the upper diamond echelon who went straight to carrier against me. I figured, "oh, take 3 bases and make tons of hydra, it will own him." Boy was I wrong, Mutas are the answer to protoss air.
Phoenix absolutely demolish mutas and phoenix are faster than mutas so if they aren't in greater numbers than the phoenixes, mutas will all be chased down.. It would have been extremely easy for GuineaPig to transition to phoenixes considering he already had 2 stargates and phoenixes have relatively short build times. Sure, lower-level players can do random crap but GuineaPig's build was well thought-out and well executed. By the way, going straight to carriers loses to everything.

Gosh how can he walk by the restaurants in Korea and ignore all that delicious food... That's just unbelieveable Actually believable. A lot of Korean dishes only uses meat as a side dish, there's definitely a lot of vegetarian dishes. Hell unless rice doesn't turn into meat Artosis will be fine. Much easier being a veggy there than here, in my opinion. Liked that protoss play, chrono boosting probes. That's soemthing people haven't done enough, P definitely has the potential to macro ridiculously (presuming they can survive whatever timings). I wonder if that'll be a viable, accepted style a few years from now. There is no fucking way is it easier being a vegetarian in Korea than Sweden ! A significant % (like, vast majority) of the places we eat at dont even have a real vegetarian meal. Maybe "easier" is the wrong word. But you can be a veggie with food that doesn't taste like cardboard in Korea. Rather bibimpap (or however the damn that's spelled Oo) than a fake burger.. Surprising about resturaunts though, I'm just basing this on what I get at yam. Assumed they had a lot of 100% vegetarian dishes. This is looking awfully similar to a platinum level game.. so many cannons and void rays. Can't believe he's making it work lol
The moment you use broth to steam vegetables, stuff stops being vegetarian. That could be the main problem and make Bibimbap not be a vegetarian dish.
