The workers are now cutting corners or something is what I read after Rainbow's interview in gsl2 I think which makes them able to attack better thus rushes are effectively being nerfed a bit indirectly. Still need a link though so if anyone can provide it (don't know where to look).

Like Hollowlord said, I would like to see a thread about this stealth buff that Rainbow mentioned in GSL2. You are probably more informed about this, but I have noticed that lings seem completely impotent against SCVs / Drones. 6 pools and 8 pools seem completely worthless compared to 4 pool / 5 pool in SC1. We just saw a zerg fast hatch against 8 pool and he literally didn't know about the lings until they were in his main. And it was minimally effective. There's no question early lings are less dangerous to have in your base than in SC1. Zerglings are probably better than workers at fighting - I was exaggerating but I would not favor 6 lings against 12 scvs or 12 drones, I would not be surprised in such fights if 1 or less workers were killed. I would be very surprised if 6 lings managed to do enough damage to win a game for the rusher.

Anyway, yeah 4 pool was hella easier than 6 pool. 6 pool just gets squashed for some reason.

I would be very surprised if 6 lings managed to do enough damage to win a game for the rusher. The change was that workers no longer hover when turning. For example, if you set a worker to chase an enemy's scouting worker, you'd almost never catch up before the stealth buff. Now, your worker will catch up (doing perfect turns) to the scouting probe with no hovering. They handle more like zerglings, or any other ground unit now. This means it's much faster for them to get surrounds, which is especially noticeable against 6/8 pool rushes.

I first heard about it when Rainbow mentioned it early in GSL 2. So it was the patch that fixed the ultra splash bug or the one that upped roach range / made rax require depot.
