Halo 1 and 2 were much more competitive than Halo 3, actually. The majority of the competitive Halo community despises Halo 3.
That said, MLG is dropping the ball on this one. It's such shame because MLG has an awesome opportunity here and I feel like they're blowing it.

I played both CS and TF2 competitively. Halo is hot garbage.
You don't get any of the strategic elements of weapon costs from CS or the class loadouts and uber usage from TF2. It's just frags.

Top Halo games like Semi-finals/Finals with the commentators from Raleigh was pretty sweet and I've never seen Halo before =P
But it's pretty slow-paced for FPS, PC is superior to console in FPS by far.
