I think GOMtv is just misjudging their target audience. That being said I'm sure we will see some restreams though I probably won't even bother watching. I am disappoint.

I had a good feeling that they would be placing a price for the stream and VODs but to separate the two, and make VODs not only more expensive but only available for the current season is pretty ridiculous. I don't mind paying at all for something i support, but it feels like GOM is just doing this for the money.

well, the price seems pricey ...
I mean I pay 15 usd to watch ufc with its billionarie aggregated value (and both fighters receive 200 k usd just to fight each other + prize for winner etc etc )
edit: it's 1,95 the day not 19,95, so ok ... it kinda makes sense ....

I don't see why this is a problem. Of course they are doing this for the money. They're doing the entire tourney for the money. In fact GOM's entire reason for existing is to make money.

A live in brazil and is not worth paying for a broadcast. I woud love a free one with bad quality and a payed one in HD. Thats the best idea.

I won't paste the exact msg from Artosis, but I will say he told me that they just found out about this tonight too, and he hoped to get some more information on Saturday. I'm guessing they'll be very aware of this thread and the general consensus. Doesn't change my intention of purchasing, but hopefully something can come from it. He says he'll keep us informed.

The problem is that most others won't, and then they don't get anywhere near the amount of viewers they would get normally. This again leads to less for showing off to any investors, and a much less likelihood for this whole event to happen again.

I would really love to hear what the reasoning behind this was.

well, maybe some money (since the sponsors are always the same) could mean bigger prizes and maybe more persons participating in events, on the other hand lesser audience leads to even less sponsors and lot less attentions to a next event =(
guess there should be basic stream free version and paid hd version or something....

Sad sad news, I dont mind paying but theres a limit to things, 600$ a year to watch the gsl is pretty dumb especially since you lose the VODs at the end of the month.

Wow, who in their right mind came up with this pricing structure? $240 per year for a stream that runs at 3am? Another $360 per year for VOD's? No one should buy this, do not support stupidity. The faster this dies the better.

All I can say to this is, that I wont pay them a dime. There will probably be a restream (and in better quality, seriously 500kbps for high quality? lol), so it's just pathetic from gom, but if I cant get to watch it I guess I'll just have to rely on live reports and articles - Oh well.
