The initial answer to counter mass mutas is mass marines, with a few thors mixed in. However, banelings rape the marines, and speedlings rape the thors. Mutas in combination just decimate. Since thors are so immobile as well mutas can easily harass whilst you're pushing out.
Not complaining about imbalance here, just saying "marines" aren't the answer.
I think a few point defence drones on/around your thors would be a possible solution.

Oh JESUS, that s exactly what i didnt want, people starting to call it imba. You need friggin support for Thors against mass muta, everybody knew this alrady in beta. Against Marine thor you can go, bling-ling-muta, against which T implements tanks.

This is so true, reading these comments is hilarious, everyone seems to have jumped on the "Terran is easy-mode" bandwagon. Now I'm not saying there's no imbalance at all (maybe slight), but people here are ridiculous.
