You know who doesn't play Protoss? mOOnGLaDe Tournament is looking awesome so good luck everyone! I hope Nazgul can go far as I really like watching his play style. You can tell we are hungry down here for the next Legionnaire to come along
I am similarly looking forward to Naz in action, but also JinrO, Lz and TLO are all really entertaining. Also there are the wildcards of Kawaii and NonY!

Massive amounts of respect to HD and Husky for getting this HUGE prizepool into a BETA-tournament.
In my opinion they could invite a bunch of bronze-players IF THEY WANT to (even though that would probably not be evolving e-sports into anything else but a comic-show, but you get my point). It´s their invitational, and they may chose to do whatever they want to. However, since they are clever beings this will future the elite and there will be a LOTS of great games. And the shoutcasting in High Definition on youtube can only be a SUPER thing for the sake of SC2 and e-sports.

I instantly became a TLO fan after his metalopolis game vs Nazgul in the TLI. He is not only a skilled player but also an entertaining player to watch.
This tournament has a ton of talent.

plus its not only just being high ladder or w/e but among most top players in US server every1 knows who most of the other top players are through cg's and w/e and i just feel like there could be some better names out there, thats all.
but i do agree for myself other players that are relatively unknown the best way to get "known" is to play in showmatches/tournies and other things which i have recently have been doing (omfg tonight and iccup tv last night) u dont even use hotkeys you cant win !

Don't even get what the big deal is. Thought people advocating for others was kind of standard for an invite tourney.
You thought wrong. It's an invitational and if the organizers wanted or cared about our input they would have asked for it.
It wouldn't have been annoying if one or two people did it, but i'm pretty sure HD and Husky, or anyone else really, wanted 16 pages of whining.

Since not all beta players are TL members, I figured I should post to show my existence, and would be honored to play. Race: Z Rating: 1909 But mostly I'm just good at 'practicing' as Idra might say.. I think SLush could be another good Z candidate, his team won both 'triple strike cup'.

DeMusliM is really good and really fun to watch iirc from the Zotac Cup. I'd also suggest Dimaga (cos he's insanely good) and maybe mOOnGLaDe so the aussies have someone to cheer.

Meh, I've reread some of the pages and the whining is pretty minimal.
No one's throwing a tantrum and only a few have made disparaging remarks about those already invited.
Most people are just saying they support this and that person and would like to see them included in the tourney. Expected when there are still spots left to be filled.
It's like a bunch of white knights jumped out of the wood works for nothing.
I mean, what's this nonsense? "Also, if this gretorp guy ends up not getting in that would be great justice. Punishment for unleashing spammers unto the thread."

Lucifron, Lucifron, Lucifron!
Thanks HD & Husky... and of course the sponsor, iRip (great utility, btw).
Awesome stuff.

Oh man this lineup is so sweet, going to be a bunch of epic matchups.
I'd suggest machine and demuslim but I'm sure they've already considered them

ROFL.
And the entire SC2 beta "invite the most known/famous players regardless of skill" is getting old fast. So of course you are going to get some pissed off Americans posting in this thread, especially a lot of the top ranked ones on the ladders right now.
imo if you wanna get "e-sports" going in the right direction in North America it should be E-sports not "the ruling class Elite sports."
aka open tournaments. all tournaments are not going to be open.. but there is a weekly 100$ US open tournament which is Open to everyone.. *note* the word Invitational. there is still plenty of people to be invited everyone just take a chill pill and let the admins do there work.
I am chilled I am just pointing out what a lot of people, myself included, tend to get frustrated over a bit. If 16 invites are going to be top SC1 players only, why not just have an SC1 tournament ?
Just playing devil's advocate, as obviously most of the former SC1 players are very skilled players. And am just thinking there should be more OPEN tournaments, rather than closed invite only ones.
|
Most of the tournaments are open. This is like maybe the third invite tournament.
|
this will be best beta tourney ever!
|
Holy shit! This is the most awesome tournament for sc2 so far. I hope we get some big names up there such as cauthon, lucifron, dimaga, demuslim, morrow and white-ra. That would be the perfect tournament.
