Korean terrans been using reaper expand since the beta.
There's basically 3 variations. Polts one is very light on tech and gas but is overall the safest, relying on good medivac control to win games. Innovations one gets +1 started before the first 2 medvaics but struggled a lot with 2 base blink stalker play and certain other aggressive timings and it can do a stim timing reasonably if you don't cut marauders. Bombers one is reliant on the stim and shields to either defend a Protoss attack or to overrun their front if they're being too greedy, it's quite risky but it can catch a lot of protoss off guard, particularly if you distract them with the reaper first and they forget to sentry properly.
It is the most popular build with Korean terrans atm, with CC first being just behind it I should think. behind that is 1 rax expand and behind that a variation of mine drop expand (which isn't quite as shit as I thought it was but it's still kinda shit).

So how do i win tvp late game on the new huge maps? do i have to build mass plantery fortress now? Because all my timings have stopped woriking...
|
I mean once you get to the 16 minute mark getting into late game you should start a Couple PFS in Key locations and prepare for Ghost Viking vses Colo Templar so yea
|
I imagine just open CC first into marauder medivac multitasking like a god.
Keep doing it until one player is dead.
Maybe make ghosts if you're ahead.
|
Yea I usually have 2-3 Sets of Medivacs going and dropping all over the place and 1 Force threatning at the front I'll do Significant Damage yet If I don't macro the right composition behind it like Say I miss the Templar switch and my frontal forces gets stormed its GG its a Thin Razer balance of orchastrating this but I guess its the only way to get wins

Does anyone know where I can find some sort of TvT marine tank replays (the more recent the better) or some sort of place/ video where I can learn the build because I really feel like my TvT is so awkward.. And at my level I feel like it is either this or mech and i have never mech'd in my life so I mean I feel like if I really learn marine tank, I will be set until plat.. thanks again everyone :>

Quick poll here:
I was in gold playing plats last season, and I'd been on either side of the gold plat line for many seasons before the patch, simply because I don't have much time to play the game.
This season, I'm in silver and can't make my way out. I'm legitimately losing to other silvers and people who've been knocked down. Are any other T's out there feeling the pain on the ladder? I didn't think that the mine nerf would have been that bad but biomine is really hard for me now, and since mine drop is super bad now a lot of P that I play aren't getting the robo and either going straight for templar (because SoS i guess) or even faster upgrades.
Maybe somehow in the past week I've become super duper shit at the game but I never thought I'd be struggling in silver again. Was the patch really this harsh?

I dunno, I think something happened to the rankings to be honest. I'm a former low-Masters playing other former low-Masters -- at the top of Platinum. I haven't been Plat since 2010 Wings of Liberty Ladder Season 1. It's not just us Terrans, either; most of my former Masters opponents are Zerg and Protoss.
My thoughts are that Blizzard quietly adjusted something to the ladder. Both SC2 Ranks and nios.kr are showing most players in bronze/silver right now, whereas before things worked more on a bell curve. Could also just be a bug that'll get patched up.

I need a new build in TvP with an quick ebay, but not like rax - cc - ebay. Something like rax expo into 3 rax with an ebay where you can do some sort of +1 timing pressure. Any Idea ?
|
@ DaveSprite: Have you tried going with the patch instead of against it? By this I mean, making tanks and or helbats vs zerg to replace some of the WM splash. Using hellbats and viking that share upgrades in tvp. And instead of opening WM drop, opening reaper, cc first, or 1 rax expo.
The patch definitely made bio mine weaker, but I feel the addition of small numbers of thors and hellbats will help deal with mutas and lings more consistantly than WMs (post nerf). As always you need something to deal with banelings wether it be tanks or marauders or WM (they still are cheap aoe). At your level I suggest just leading with marauders and hellbats then marines, with a few thors if muta numbers are out of control. Thors are cheaper to produce per minute than tanks btw. If you want a easy way to learn how to use hell bats, there are hellbat, marauder, medevac builds vs toss that wreck zealot heavy play. Basically, try to get to 2 fac hellbat with or without blue flame, 4ish marauders, 2-4 medevacs and 2 marines per cycle. With a lot of healing power, those hellbats and marauders dont give a shit!

Has anyone had experienced 30 burrowed roaches walking right into your main and natural while you move out yet? It happened to me and instantly brought back memories of infestors sneaking into your main and dropping infested terran everywhere. Just a heads up, turret in the natural isn't just for DTs anymore

Protoss skipping the robo can be abused super super well, because they will have NO idea where your drops are coming from, and very little idea of how big your army is, where it is located, etc, because a lack of observers. You can easily abuse this with well upgraded bio alone, and large drops (I usually guess enough to overwhelm 15 supply plus a wave of warpins) because they can't readjust their army splitting since they don't know what you are doing. And if they build a late robo then they probably need it for immortals/colossi instead of observers assuming you pressure like crazy.

Yeah, all my tvp's have reduced to 40-50 minute turtle fests as I wait for protoss to run out of minerals on their 3-4 bases to my 6-7...
It is retarded, cant attack into them so you just gotta wait and do side attacks every time they push out till they flip out and force a weird base race.
I've gotten by through securing my third, fourth and fifth bases with 3 planetaries each, and securing the main path to my base with another 3 if I can. Then once toss decides he's finally had enough defending and forces the base race there is no way he'll out race me. Either that or they starve.
But yeah. All my tvp's now take like an hour cause these maps and just how toss is now allows them to be super greedy and safe at the same time... retarded.
Regardless of balance it is stupid game flow. If I wanted to spend 50 minutes watching units suicide into each other, I'd play league or dota....
Edit: yeah, and don't forget building upgrades. Those help quite a bit.

11\11 is still a good all in that is intense and fun, just an option for the odd tvp if you dont feel like macro games for everyone.

add reaper expand and CC first and you have the 3 "viable" openings of Terran vs Protoss.
I am a huge fan of 11/11, especially when you are on loosing streak vs protoss.
|
There's also stim and shield timings. Reaper and 15 gas expands can go into them pretty easily. Nifty if you don't really want to play a real game of TvP.
|
I've resorted to pulling all my natural SCVs after my first 2 medivacs pop Most tosses are playing REALLLLYYYYY greedily
|
Oh yeah I do that after a widow mine drop expand or 9/9/9 proxy reaper and factory. Well only if they play too greedily after it. It can be quite potent.
Also one thing to consider is MVP style season one marine tank off 2 base play, works quote well against greedy protosses.
