By the time you can muster out 4-6 thors you are probably already into the lateish stages of the game at which point mutas aren't really a problem anymore. I don't see why you would ever want to replace marines. What will you have to kill the zerglings and banelings?

I would never make 4-6 Thors but I have Made 1-2 Thors to Box out Muta from just Ez Pz Sniping Widow Mines. The biggest problem is that if make it to early that it will eat significantly into your Marine count so adding it in after you have 3 bases 2 Factories and 8 rax is good but ONLY after you have 30-50+ Marines 4-6+ Mines as losing a fight against Ling Bling Muta will be very easy with low marine count and now with the thor there will be very costly. MMA Did do this in the season finals though secured an easy victory as Muta couldn't just Snipe widow mines to make for a better engagement with Ling Bling.

I've been messing around with MVPs 8 rax, 1 fac, 1 sp, hellbat marauder transition, and If I get a 4th base, I add only factories and starports for hive tech. Eventually focusing on thors, hellbats and marauders + medevacs. I still use marines to keep the army balanced, and make sure mutas don't magic box but i personally prefer higher HP units, that don't die to fungals, ultras and banelings. Seems to work in diam

A big problem I see are upgrades. When you have your 4th base your 3-3 for bio should just be about finishing. Do you start upgrading your mech units then?

0-1 or 0-2 mech units don't stand up well against 5-3 ultras.

well thats the Trade Off Unless you are transitioning to fight BLs you don't get the upgrade you spend it in a Thor pretty much....... Seeing how the Main Idea of the Thor is to Long Range damage the Muta thats clumped up trying to snipe a wm so you set it in a good position and Zone the muta so that if they come in to kill the thor they will get hit by wm and if they try to snipe WM you hit them with the thor.....

Yea ups can be an issue for me, but I just get attack ups for mech, kind of like the opposite of innovation's fast armor ups for WM and medevacs. Im not sure, but i think +1 hellbats 2 shot drones... so there is always hellbat drops.
Honestly I think its more of a three base all-in against zerg, but it never hurts to have a plan B... and yea, like pirfiktshon said, if you only using them to support 4M you dont need ups, as they only are there for mutas

Thoughts about Marine(marauder) tank vs Zerg? I feel that MMMM is really bad with the patch and i like the tank change.

so i read the last few pages on TvZ but what I am wondering is do you think these changes are severe enough for us to begin skipping the hellions and trying to get more tanks out early game? Similar to marine tank in tvt?

The hellions are for map control and slowing creep spread as much as possible. The tank even with it's change fulfills neither of these roles. I suppose you could try to bring back the 2 base marine/tank timing of TvZ.

Hellions are pretty much mandatory early in TvZ, you would only opt for early tanks if you need to hold roach/bane based all ins.

Well, any recommandation about 11/11 vs P ? Is it real good against proxy oracle ? Since this shit will probably happens a lot, I was thinking of playing of meta and spamming 11/11.

Btw, I started doing 8889 again vs Z, and man that allin kicks ass, even against low gm. I almost never lost any game, even if he managed to stabilized. The only proper counter I faced is gaz10/pool10 and still, it's pretty strong and you only need to back before he get speed. I'll spam this build now since WM doesn't do shit.

I've been thinking to play this game again after a 7 months hiatus and I haven't really watched any games since then. Sorry if my questions are general and If I haven't done much research myself, my time is limited. Are most of the builds in the OP considered up to date with the current meta (Most of the VODs date from March/April)? If not, what is the current meta for Terran matchups (as november)? Just some little guidance would be great! In the meanwhile, i'll go watch the recent tourney vods.

Bomber doesn't seem to think hellions are mandatory :p. He showed you can skip them all together and play incredibly greedy with three tanks for defense. Then just abuse the shit out of mules and marines.
