I have never tried using the Naga mouse but I have found that even using the two side buttons on just about any mouse is much less effective in sc2 because removing your thumb from the side of the mouse really impairs your accuracy. The huge difference between the two games is that even in high level arena, mouse accuracy really doesn't mean anything as you rarely ever click anything on the screen. This allows the side buttons to be utilized much more effectively without messing up your accuracy.

I have used every button in SC aswell, but chose to go for a mouse with less buttons (was using the Lachesis for 3.5 years), now I have a mouse with just 2 at the side which I use for Starport/gate and Factory/Robo and that's enough for me really. I just don't know but at one point the buttons I had to use with my pinky were getting annoying. Also for the naga isn't it just too many buttons? I asked my mate who had a naga for WoW, but he says he doesn't use any of them at all for Starcraft.

But in RTS games like sc2, It will just make you ALOT slower, Alot of mistakes can be made with accidently hits during high preasure events like trying to maco behind stutter steping @ a master lvl. It will lower your apm not matter how good you are with the mouse. Might be decent for lower leagues. but custom keybored will always give you faster play. Its very hard to micro fast using multi button/keypad type mouses. Diff in master+ using races like terran tryint to micro a large bio force while macoring behind it, i can forsee alot of miss clicking due to the hot keys on mouse. Also input on mouse to your CPU is alot slower then hiting keys on your keybored. Just my 2 cents

Overall fun mouse if you are casually playing For pros, it would be dependent on the person, but I would think you can get a better mouse for speed etc.

Not sure I want to play without it ever again. Also, I use top thumb button for camera move (mouse wheel down rebound), but that's a much more stylistic thing and I'm sure many would disagree ^^

http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=162271 As for the mouse, I use a mouse 4 extra buttons, but more than that would seem hard to use: it seems like pressing a specific button on the side of that mouse isn't so easy, especially if you got big fingers ![]()

I decided against it because I figured while it would be good for other games, Starcraft 2 is a lot of mouse movement, which becomes more difficult when trying to hit buttons on the side of it. Also, and I'd love to get some input on this, but how difficult is it to activate the correct button quickly ? Are misclicks common or is there enough room between buttons to get the correct one quickly ? This was another potential drawback that steered me to the 5 button Death Adder. I've used the naga almost since it came out. To me, the buttons feel incredibly large. I know that they are fairly small, but when I am first binding a button I visualize where it is to the action it performs in game and I visualize a huge button. I can distinguish a large difference in thumb position for each button. However it did take some getting used to. I agree with the reduced accuracy, in SC2 I would only use it for functions that don't require accuracy. For instance, if you are trying to snipe, that horizontal pressure can shift the cursor enough to miss the snipe or to snipe the wrong unit. However for more broad actions I like using it. Such as changing camera location or unit binding.
